Ashley's POV: I’m ready, and for once, I think I look beautiful, even by my own standards. My hair is pulled up in a messy bun, with loose tendrils framing my face. My makeup is light, just enough to enhance my features, with a soft pink on my lips. I can’t help but smile as I check myself out in the mirror one last time. This dress, the way it hugs my figure and the drama of the sleeves, it’s everything I could have hoped for.

POV: Ash Ryder "Is it supposed to feel this quiet, Rhea? Or is the world finally just dead?" Ash stood at the epicenter of the charred remains of the Under-Whisper, his voice sounding disturbingly smooth, devoid of the gravelly rasp that had defined his Alpha's roar. The bioluminescent roots were gone, replaced by a crystalline grey silence that stretched for miles. He looked down at his hands. They weren't blackened or charred anymore; the skin was marble-pale, perfect, and terrifyingly cold. There was no pulse in his wrists, only a steady, low hum of violet power that vibrated beneath the surface of his veins.

After, Ashly mingled through the crowd and tended to the actual customers that came in to shop for her products. Ashly is so caught up that she almost misses her phone's vibration in her pocket. She pulls it out and smiles at the screen when she reads the message waiting for her there. She quickly excuses herself and heads outside the store. Off to the side, leaning on one of the walls, is Rose Branson, just as gorgeous as Ashly remembers her. Well, probably even more than that. She's dressed in black leather pants, knee-high boots, and a royal blue oversized shirt. She looks incredible, especially when she smiles radiantly at Ashly once she spots her.
