Piper thought it was a simple task, she could have gotten it done but getting close to Faith, but then all hell broke loose when she received a call from Carla – telling her that Kai needs to see her. “Miss Hart, long time no see. How have you been?” A greasy voice interrupted. Piper turned to see a plump, middle-aged man standing before her. She internally recoiled but forced a smile. This was Mr. Doug, a wealthy investor. Winning his favor meant immediate funding, without even reviewing proposals. Previously, Piper had accompanied him for a few drinks, and he invested in the Hart family. But she had refused to do more for him—she found him unpleasant. “Mr. Doug! Long time no see. You’re still as dashing as ever!” Piper complimented, maintaining her charm.

Piper’s fingers twitched against her pencil, but she didn’t speak. “The Stonebridges are back with trouble. Digging about you,” he said finally, his voice flat and sharp. Her pencil hovered mid-stroke. “I figured.” “They want records. Your background. Statements,” he continued, stepping closer. “Framed as concern. Piper… do you have anything to hide?” She met his gaze, keeping her voice calm. “I have nothing to hide. It’s fine.” His eyes narrowed. “Really? You expect me to believe that?” His tone was deliberate, slow, meant to cut. “Because… people like you are always careful. Clever. Protecting themselves. Even if it costs everyone else.”

Soon, Aakifahlynn watched Piper stroll toward her, smiling from ear to ear, a male partner in hand. He was a little taller than Aakifahlynn, about five feet eight inches, and a broad grin plastered his features. Aakifahlynn kept her gazes on their faces for now. Reaching Aakifahlynn, Piper introduced the two without using names. By simply saying to Aakifahlynn, "May I introduce you to the gentleman I will be working with?" As Piper pulled up in her Fiat 500 outside her parent's semi-detached cottage thoughts of her life in London disappeared. “I’m not really the party type.” Jack’s smile faltered a little, but he recovered quickly. “That’s fine. Just… think about it, okay?” I nodded, offering a small smile. “I will.” He grinned, relief washing over his face, and gave a little wave before he slipped out. Piper raised her voice, unable to keep her excitement in check. Ivy breathed in and out before breaking it to Piper. " You might not believe it but I just met with Billionaire Alexander Grayson. Jack's boss!" Ivy completed. " That rich man? You what? How? When? Where?" Piper chirped in. She stopped what she was doing to listen to her. "He almost ran into me with his car a few minutes ago and dang! He's hot I must say though not like my Jack. My Jack is hotter. He even gave me his handkerchief."
