I'm a Beta, and our shifts pack a lot of power, not more than an Alpha's shift, but close. My name is Aston Wiley, and I'm the future Beta of the BlackPaw Pack. I'm best friends with the future Alpha King Jamison. He turned 18 a month ago but hasn't found his mate yet. The anticipation is killing me, as I believe I know who my mate is, and I will get confirmation when I get to school.

Inside those buses were tens of teenage wolves, including my half-brother and the Beta's daughter. I didn't know much about either of them, I hadn't even seen them yet. What Henry and Ian, my best scouts, had told me was that the Beta's daughter was a "f*cking hot" blonde and a senior (which I didn't care and barely paid attention to any other intel they had on her)... I was more interested in the information they had collected on my half-brother, Thomas. Their description was long, but summing it up: He looked like a mini-me. It had made Marte proud to know that, but I wasn't so happy about it. After all, it meant that I looked a lot like the sh*tty ass of a father.

Kevan remained quiet; he did not urge Aster to speak. After a long while, Aster finally gathered the courage to say, "I'm just ... feeling a little sad." His voice was barely audible, and Kevan had to lean in to hear him clearly. "Why are you feeling sad?" Kevan asked. "Why ... Why can't you be my real daddy?" Aster's tears welled up again as he uttered the last syllable. Despite calling Kevan "Daddy" and proudly boasting about having such a great "Daddy" to everyone, deep down, he knew that Kevan wasn't his biological father. Not to mention that Mommy wouldn't let Kevan become his real dad. Everything he did was just self-deception. Only Kevan was willing to play along.

Everything is gonna be fine. *** "Hey... Why are you suddenly so stiff?" Brittany questioned in whispers as we made way into the building while Travis remained back outside and I remained silent because I had no idea how to explain anything to her at this point. We had just reached an empty hallway when what I feared the most happened. The clash I didn't want now stared me right in the face. Our small group just came face to face with My Father about to leave and he wasn't alone. He has Ava with him and a woman I haven't seen before but from the look of things, she might be Adrian's Mother.

I stare up at him, he's right my father will not forgive him, this will make him look weak and that is a no-go in this life. “He played you didn't he,” I say finally putting together the pieces. “Yup, he was never interested in doing the deal, just wanted to see me work for it i guess” he blows out a breath. A lightbulb goes off in my head, “Wait” I say and rush to grab my phone “Did you say, Agosti, as in Alessandro Agosti”. My brother looks at me with confusion etched into the wrinkles forming on his forehead, “Yes, you've met his father before Malcom Agosti”. I pull up his contact and shove it in my brother's face, “Why do you have that” he asks.

I said, and Alessandro smiled. “How can you find it in yourself to be flirting with a man at a time like this one?” Rheniera asked, shaking her head at me. I went to answer before the ground shook under us, and I frowned before realizing that the door, which we were heading to, started shaking. I looked at Alessandro, and he tightened his arm around me before pulling me behind him, and I watched the door barge open, making us all freeze for a second as my brother, father, and my mate’s beta walked down the stairs.

panicked Ace’s voice on the other end. Stephen paused just as he was about to get in his vehicle. His friends also halted and looked at him in surprise. “What did you find out?” He didn’t know why, but he suddenly felt a rush of anxiety. He heard Ace’s deep breath on the other line. “Aries Baltazar has an older brother named Ariston Baltazar, but he’s using an alias right now.” Stephen furrowed his brow. He didn’t know that. None of them did. How could they have missed something like that?

The sun shone brightly through the windows, a very excited little boy raced into his mother's room to be unpleasantly surprised by the sight of his father. Cassias was not a fan of his father. He found him to be rude and loud. Alistar was quicker to anger and discipline compared to Layla. Cassias was not very good at walking on eggshells and Alistar had the patience of a toddler. Layla was always in the middle. Alistar's failure as a parent would be his ultimate undoing, he just didn't know it yet.

He couldn't get a word out. Aster was frantically walking-running like a blood-drenched clown was tailing her. "What, leaving already?" They both froze in place upon hearing a familiar voice. "Hey Xav, my guy! How's it going!" Pollux, Aster's older brother, currently in 1st year college. He seems to have only gotten back from buying groceries. He then proceeds to greet Xavier with a hard pat on the shoulder, completely forgetting about the bag of vegetables and condiments he's holding, causing it to slam against Xavier's back.

I mumbled, and Asteria sighed. "So, the Moon Goddess was right... Help was on its way," Asteria smiled and laced her fingers with mine. Some of the people around us, I have met... but others were strangers. "Alright, pay attention, becuase there are a lot of people..." Asteria said, "The tall, brody man, and the dark-haired woman, are my uncle Alexander and Aunty Ayla." She pointed at a couple, "The man with the dark shades beside them and the red–haired woman are my Uncle Dante and my Aunty Charmaine..." she pointed out, "And, of course, the handsome man is my father," she smiled, and I chuckled.
