Aster whispered to him. His younger brother was trying to cover up his trembling voice by acting tough and unaffected. Although Asher ignored what his twin brother had said, he still considered Aster's feelings and started calming himself down. He closed his eyes for a moment and slowly counted up to three in his mind. When he opened his eyes again, the acidic smell of vanilla coming from him had finally stopped. Aster let out a relieved sigh before he rubbed his forehead on Asher's shoulder. He was still soothing his brother in case he became triggered again. Aster really found it difficult sometimes to have an alpha as his brother.

I stepped closer, holding his face to mine. "What did they do to you, Big Brother? You can tell me!" He pulled away from my grip, but I held it back again. "Those men...those men who shot you..." I stuttered, tears streaming down my face. "What did they do to you? Did they wipe your memories? How can you not remember me?!" "Enough!" He pushed me away. This time I wanted to fall to the floor, sob, and pull my hair. "My name is Kaleb!" He barked. "The next time you call me big brother I'd be kicking you out of this house!"
