Tonight was the Halloween Party at the community center for the pre-teens and teens. Ava got into the Halloween spirit by dressing in a sock hop costume. It only cost her thirty-five dollars at the holiday shop in Helena. It was an A-line silhouette. The white T-shirt had a scoop neckline with short sleeves and the letter A largely stitched in black over her right breast. Her red swinging skirt came to her knees. A five inch black belt was around her waist. A black, sheer scarf held up her ponytail.

Astrid appeared in the doorway at dinner that evening dressed in a gown of regal blue, with long sleeves and gold trim. Astrid asked, massaging her temples from the impending headache. “Your mom didn’t tell you?” “Tell me what?” “Well, open your front door first then I’ll tell you.” “What the hell?” Astrid scrambled on her feet and peeked out the window to see Dreia herself…wearing a varsity jacket with the sleeves rolled up, baggy cargo pants, and a hat. Over her eyes were darkly tinted shades. “What are you wearing?” She snorted. “Come on,” Dreia whined over the phone, “I can feel my skin blistering from the heat of the city, damn!”

The excitement in Astrid's voice was enough to lift a nation. "Astrid," I knocked gently on the door. "Come in," she replied in a sing song voice. My eyes took in the scene around me, Astrid's room was in chaos, gowns and shoes were strewn all around the room. "Finally," Lyra scoffed, rolling her eyes as she watched me walk into the room. "Which should I wear tonight," Astrid asked, holding up two dresses, a metallic gold gown and a silver shimmering gown. "The silver?" I asked, my reply sounding like a question.

She had dainty gossamer wings and long pointed tips to her ears. Astrid was tall, lithe and blond. Her hair braided into several sections that all came together into one long thick braid that came over her shoulder and hung to her waist. She had the most purest pale blue eyes and her pale complexion was covered in freckles. She looked strong and fierce like a warrior but grinned with a friendly warmth as Aria shook her hand. "I am pleased to meet you." Astrid said, her European sounding accent thick. "As am I." Yolanda agreed with a matching welcoming smile as she also shook Aria's hand.

SOMETHING BLUE: The Bride must always wear something… anything… blue. It can be a trinket or undergarment. Some choose to put a blue lining on the wedding garter that they wear under their wedding gown. Ryder. That did not go as planned. Astrid is a little firecracker. The dress is long and elegant, she keeps a gold and red rhinestone sceptre in her hand and a crown on her head to match the sceptre. Adrian is standing beside me, in a hands down, honest to God hot suit that looks like it was tailored to fit every inch of him to quintessence. So yes, he is dressed as him but with face faint on, skeletal face paint that's almost spine chilling. His hair is ruffled up into a messier 'just fucked' version of his everyday look.

It had to be. ​I stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows of the drawing room, watching the London skyline bleed from a hazy afternoon gold into a bruised, electric purple. I had traded the oversized sweaters and the soft, vulnerable fabrics of a victim for a dress that felt like a whetstone. It was a structured, obsidian-black midi dress with sleeves that hit just above the elbow and a neckline that offered nothing.
