Astrid Parker Doesn't Fail Novels & Stories

And then she came, weary and footsore, to the gate of the Blackstone pack. She should have found charity there. It was a great pack, a rich one. But it wasn't the Alpha nor his father who came to the gate to hear her plea. It was Astrid. Astrid, who had been shut in her own dark misery for weeks, who had lost her looks and her friends and her husband's love and had nothing left in her but a cold and bitter cruelty looking for somewhere to land. She came out to the gate and found a bent old woman in a thin cloak begging for coins, and something ugly in her seized on it.

“Enjoy your victory while it lasts, Merrick, and remember that Atlas Kane WILL push back.” “I would expect nothing less, sweet Lydia.” I winked through the aching in my chest, “say hi to your girlfriend for me.” “I will not be doing that, Merrick.” Her smile did not meet her eyes’ “Have a good day, and try to stay out of trouble.” “Mmhmm.” I huffed a breath as I hobbled out of the car, but trouble was already waiting for me, all five foot eight of it. Astrid stood in front of the double doors, hands folded across her chest, eyes fixed on me like a bloodhound.

Let them enter this space thinking they had the upper hand. Let them walk into the lie I built and try to tear it down. Because if Astrid thought showing up early changed anything, she was wrong. She was still a girl who lost everything. And I was still the one who knew how to survive.

"Yeah, Dexter has a way of making everything sound like a mission, but he's got a point. And trust me, I've taken those words to heart." "But seriously," Astrid mutters, "It's refreshing to hear that kind of advice, especially from a guy. It's nice to know there's someone out there who really gets it, who understands that it's not just about getting off but about making sure both people are really into it. That's… hot." Astrid's voice took on a slightly reflective tone as she began, "And as someone who's had more than her fair share of disappointing sexual experiences, I can honestly say…"

"Astrid is a descendant of the Keepers." Stefan shook his head. "Not just a descendant. She is the Keeper—the last of their kind." The words sent a chill through the room. "But that’s impossible," Andrea muttered. She turned to Kaiden. "You said she’s wolf-less." "She is," Kaiden confirmed. "She’s never shifted. But she can feel the mate bond." Stefan frowned. "Shifters who haven’t found their wolves can’t feel the mate bond. Or use the mind link."

Because they clearly do. God, I’m so confused right now. Astrid shakes her head, taking off her scarf and wrapping it around her wrist. She still holds the gun with her left hand, making me hella nervous. “Look. I never planned on this,” she explains more calmly. “If I were to take you out, I would’ve chosen a more… quiet way, you know? Something that could never be tied back to me in any way or form.” Her eyes gleam suddenly, wicked and gleeful. “Just like that car crash five years ago. Remember that?” She turns to Samuel with a cold smile. “Which this idiot botched by hiring another halfwit. God, how could you not tell the difference between her and that pathetic decoy?” Her arm jerks towa

he says and stands on the podium in front of the three judges, the place where Einar was before, "as you know, Astrid has always stood out for being good at her job. She has worked the hardest to achieve the delta position, even though her father, Axel, who died recently, was before her." "She showed more fearlessness, both in human and wolf form, regardless of her opponent's size. She has accomplished all missions both inside and outside the pack. Witnessed her work by myself last mission that was done without any problems. In the last two years, of all her work, I have only seen her fail once, and, sadly, that is why she is being judged."

"Lying there, letting your mate drain you dry for another woman. If I were you, I would have left the pack months ago." "Left the pack?" I forced myself to meet her gaze. "And what then? You think you can handle being Luna?" "I've been handling it perfectly," she replied smugly. "Perfectly?" Despite my weakness, I managed to inject venom into my voice. "Is that what you call it when you let me manage the training grounds? When your reckless reforms nearly got Tyler killed?" Astrid's smile faltered slightly. "That was an accident." "An accident that happened because you had no idea what you were doing," I pressed on, feeling a spark of satisfaction at her discomfort. "Just like your financial

"There's no need. We've been searching tirelessly, but it's been fruitless. He's gone. Let the people rest." UT's brows furrowed in disbelief. "But—" Astrid cut him off, "Tell the people to go back to their tents, UT!" she instructed, her voice sharp. And then she noticed that maybe she had been a bit too harsh to him. She sighed, calming herself down and then spoke a bit calmly, "We need to accept the truth and move forward." Reluctantly, UT nodded, swallowing his words before turning to leave the tent. Tran's disappearance was just like that of Ragnar's daughter.

But do you have to go this far? 'If you hate me that much, then don't come back to the apartment! Don't even show your face!' she fumed silently. Astrid had always excelled at her job. Her skills and experience were impressive, but her love life was a disaster. Like Claire, she drew plenty of attention from men, yet none of them ever seemed worth saying yes to. Then she finally met a man who made her heart skip, and he turned out to be the very same man her best friend had fallen for. Now she was stuck living under the same roof with him.
