At least eight feet tall. Pale skin stretched tightly over an abnormally massive body. Its arms looked wrong. Too long. Bones distorted beneath flesh like failed surgery. And its face Dear God. Parts of it still looked human. Enough to make it worse. One damaged eye stared lifelessly at the camera while the other twitched unnaturally. Scars covered its shaved head. Numbers branded into its neck. L-001. The creature slowly lifted its head toward the camera. And smiled. Ava’s blood ran cold.

She paused for a moment, and I saw the flicker of color again. She held up her hand and I watched as it shifted into claws. Suddenly though, Skylar was shaking. The look on her face was pained and I furrowed my brow, trying to figure out what was happening. Skylar brought up her other hand and shifted it. Now her entire body was almost convulsing. “Stop, Skylar!” Suddenly, there was a pain racing through my veins. It was white hot, like someone poured molten lava into my blood stream. Gasping, I saw her ears start to take shape on her head.

Kara flung the chair towards Maria as she charged towards her. Maria shielded her face from the incoming object with her hands. The chair fell broken just after the collision. Maria raised her eyes to Kara, she swung the gun into the air, but Kara was deft enough to evade the attack. She punched her ribs twice. Maria screamed in pain before hitting her back with the edge of the gun. Kara staggered back and Maria pointed the gun. Andre swung his hand crudely through the air, Kara arched her back, swinging a hand towards his face. The punch missed by few inches but landed on his nose.

I close my eyes and let my head fall back. There’s a tingle down my spine that turns into a fiery popping as my spine grows and elongates. I feel the weight of a tail growing and my nose stretching. My bones groan and crack, then quickly solidify to their new shape. Dull fire circulates through my body. I lose my balance and fall forward, but I don’t fall. I land on my front paws. It’s like watching a video through a VR headset. I look down and see the shimmery copper fur with golden tips. Are those Paragon’s front legs?
