KAIDA I stood between realms, a fragile dam against a rising tide of spirits. Following the light radiating from each apparition within the estate, I anchored as many souls as I could, ushering them into the afterlife. My body felt like a hollow vessel; I could no longer feel the ground beneath my feet, yet I moved with desperate resolve. The Ghost stood at the far end of the room, gun smoking. "Ayesha!" Adrian shouted, but she waved him off. She wasn’t done. With one last burst of strength, she raised her weapon— And fired. The Ghost stumbled back, clutching his side, eyes wide with shock. For the first time, he looked afraid. "You—" he gasped. Ayesha stepped forward, her voice cold and unwavering. "You lost." With that, she pulled the trigger one last time. The Ghost collapsed. The fight was over.

“Correct. Shared authorship achieved. Probability of continued survival: increased significantly.” The ghost’s form flickered violently, as if the abyss’s change destabilized it. “Fools. You’ve drawn its full attention. Do you not understand? If it accepts you as players, it will not let you go. You have entered a game with no exit.” Ian’s grin sharpened. “Then we make our own exit.
