[Azriel] I expect to wake up with darkness before me, with the smell of dirt and desolation engulfing my senses, but when I open my eyes, I see a ceiling. I blink a few times, trying to get rid of the blurry vision. Yes, this is a ceiling and as my senses become more aware, I smell a familiar scent. Aysel’s scent. At that moment, I hear a door open. I feel too weak to move but become alert nonetheless. And then… and then I hear a gasp.

led dark brown hair, which was thick and lustrous. His eyes were a mesmerising deep ocean blue, flecks of silvery light performed ballets throughout. His face was strong and defined, his features moulded from granite. He had dark eyebrows, which sloped downwards in a serious expression.Muscles rippled across every part of his body. He was obviously a seasoned warrior. She’d never seen a man with those features, but she knew, without a doubt, that he was Azazel. His tight jaw was an angular shape that was filled with little stubbles. His pale skin looked so...right. The man had on a white cotton shirt with a silky blue vest and a pair of black pants, which tied everything together."Hello, my l

he says. "Red like dragon fire or―" "No, it's like red-red." I stare at him. "Cause that makes sense," I snort. He laughs a little. "Okay yeah that doesn't help um, oh! Azazel's scales are the same color as her eyes," he says, and he blinks, and his irises are suddenly flaring red. My eyes widen and I feel something twist deep in my stomach. "Oh fuck," I murmur under my breath, but it comes out in almost a whimper.

“You’re a very brave little hybrid, aren’t you? However, let’s say that I give you permission to do this. How would you be able to do the spell? You’d need several ingredients that are nearly impossible to find.” Azazel smirks in reply. “That’s not a problem, mate. I have all the ingredients we need. I just need a vial of her blood.” Azazel gestures to the dark puddle on the floor. “Get the blood and follow me to the loft.” Using a plastic bag, I collect the sample and fly back to Azazel’s loft. Azazel’s sitting in the middle of the living room floor surrounded by candles. His shirt is off, and he’s rubbing something over his mark. “Do you have the blo

Cael wheezed, a dark, oily liquid beginning to leak from his eyes. Scarlett’s heart plummeted. She recognized that liquid—it was the same miasma she had seen during Caleb’s soul-coma. She rushed forward, her jade brush already out. “Caleb, let him go! He’s a vessel!” Before Caleb could react, Cael’s body contorted in a way that defied biology. A black, spectral vapor erupted from his mouth, forming a silhouette that looked disturbingly like the Silver Wolf—but twisted, rotting, and crowned with thorns.

Chapter 64: Santa Cruz Night Tuesday – The Day The next morning, sunlight slanted through the tall arched windows of BludHeaven Academy’s cafeteria, turning the polished marble floors into pools of liquid gold. The usual morning chaos was in full swing: younger students darting between tables, trays clattering, the rich scent of fresh coffee mingling with warm pastries and something faintly metallic that only the older vampires seemed to notice.

Today, he'd teamed his trademark 80's throwback suit with a cornflower blue shirt and, to my dismay, was carrying the brown leather satchel that Ethan had retrieved from the Vaults. 'Berith!' Blake greeted Oscar loudly, as the demons on the perimeter stepped to one side to allow him through. 'Azazel,' Oscar said in his familiar London rasp, before turning his gaze upon me, his beady eyes widening. 'She's hurt,' he said, jabbing a long-nailed finger in my direction. 'I told you she wasn't to be touched. I've got a deal with Rosier, you fucking know that. This girl is mine.'

Callie eyed Azazel warily and he stared at her imperiously. A rush of deja vu hit her. It all felt too similar to the many times over the years she would come to him and try to persuade him to let her go. Then, the one time he finally gave in and she brought him Lilith’s head. Azazel had always symbolized imprisonment and freedom, the barrier between the worlds in more ways than one. "Witchling," he intoned. "And the mortal brats who drove in here." Aubrey switched to her sunniest, friendliest smile. "You must be Azazel. We didn’t really get the chance to properly meet last time. I’m Aubrey."

She glances over at me and nods before making her way to the back room. Packing up my laptop and patiently waiting for the waitress, I survey the room and stop on a little girl in the corner by her mom. Ironically, she has blood red hair the color of the soul eater's and on closer inspection I notice that she has black soulless eyes too. Are there more than one or is she merely changing form? I find myself wondering this and then the waitress strolls out of the back with a bag containing the items I asked for.
