--- A Forgotten Path The journey began at dusk. Lena, Cassian, Mira, Dorian, and Idris rode out under the dying light, cloaks pulled tight against the chill. They rode toward the Forgotten Path—a place that had once been swallowed by the Rift now left untouched in the wake of its collapse. It was the only place the Remnant could have hidden. The only place left to search. Mira rode beside Lena, her expression unreadable. “So. We’re going straight into the place where reality is already broken.”

Then, quieter— “And before she forgets what she is.” Silence followed again. Not empty. Focused. Controlled. Outside the study, the castle was already shifting. Orders moving through corridors. Wolves preparing. Footsteps multiplying. The beginning of pursuit. And somewhere beyond the walls of Silvermoon, something newly awakened was running without direction. Without memory of control. Without understanding of what it had become. Back in the study, Damian turned slightly toward the window. The night beyond was darker than usual. Unstable clouds moving across the sky. The full moon hung above them, pale and unblinking, breaking through in sharp and cold intervals.

In the distance stood the remains of stone walls, half-collapsed and covered in frost. Revan stopped at the edge. “That’s them.” Shapes moved in the fog — tall, slow, cautious. Their eyes glowed faintly, not red but silver. Wolves. Jordan tensed. “You sure they’re friendly?” Revan smirked. “Not even a little.” A low growl came from the mist. Then a voice. Deep. Rough. “You brought trouble to my door again, Stormfang.” Revan straightened. “And you still call this a door, Kael?”

Chapter 11: The Enemy's Plan Kael's POV The night was still, yet I knew a storm was brewing. Not the kind that came with wind and rain, no this one was different. This was a storm of power shifting, borders being tested, and blood would spill. I stood in my study, staring at the map of territories stretched across my desk. My gaze lingered on the Silverfang Pack's lands, their borders marked clearly in dark ink. Lucian Blackwood ruled there, and for too long, he had acted as if he were untouchable.

“Just pack your things and leave. I, Alpha Adam Lyons, forever banish you, Emily Charlene Lyons from the Blue Moon pack. If you return back to Blue Moon land, you will be placed in the cells until execution.” Easton let out a murderous growl, and my eyes went wide with shock. “Daddy…why?” Why would my father banish me for finding and marking my fated mate? Before I could even ask the question, my mother was glaring at me. “I never should have accepted you as my daughter. You’re just as terrible as your whore of a mother.” She snarled before walking away.

“We need one of the Ashwolves alive.” Lucious was already relaying my command through the mind-link to someone. “Full lockdown. No one in or out. Every warrior on alert. No one should be alone. Alpha wants one of them alive.” Everyone split into units, heading toward different directions in the territory. Alex stayed with me, along with three other warriors. We moved east, into the forest. Duskfire is vast. It's one of the biggest packs in the region. We picked up the faint trail and followed it for almost an hour. The scent grew stronger. Nauseating. They smelled like pure death.

They were mismatched, built from salvaged parts and reinforced with heavy plating, looking more like armored beetles than birds of prey. A voice crackled over the emergency frequency, stripped of the polished arrogance of the Inner Rim packs. It was a woman’s voice, rough and steady, tempered by the cold of the Rift. "Unidentified pod, you are trespassing in the Grave of the Forsaken. State your lineage or prepare to be recycled."

It wasn’t long before we encountered signs of the Forsaken broken branches, paw prints unfamiliar to the territory, faint energy residue that marked them as outcasts, dangerous and unpredictable. “They’re close,” I whispered, letting Luna push my senses outward. “Spread out but stay within range. We will not allow them to corner us. Not tonight.” The first Forsaken appeared a shadowed figure, snarling, its energy dark and tainted. My pulse quickened, but not with fear. With Luna coiling tightly beneath my skin, I stepped forward, voice calm but commanding: “You trespass in Blue moon Park,” I said. “You challenge my authority. You threaten my people. You will leave or face the consequences.”

It was a wolf with its throat torn open, a crown of thorns resting on its head. "The Forsaken," Hala whispered, her eyes wide. "They were the ones Silas exiled to the dead-lands. The 'monsters' he couldn't break." "They're serving the new Alpha," I noted, watching the discipline of their march. These weren't feral rogues; they were an army. Suddenly, the wind shifted. One of the warriors stopped. He didn't look up; he sniffed the air, his nostrils flaring. He turned toward our ridge, and for a split second, I saw his eyes. They weren't brown or gold. They were a dull, light-drinking grey.

I blocked out the rest of the world, focusing on finding whatever fragment was left of Kieran’s soul so I could build a connection from there, but for the first time since I found out I was an S-rank Lycan like him, I reached out but couldn’t reach him. He was simply… gone. But I reached again, my mental hands grasping at the nothingness, my heart screaming into the black hole that had replaced Kieran’s consciousness. “Kieran!
