* [3rd Person] Everyone was waiting nervously in the living room. Bags had been packed and were by the door. Ford had been contacted about bringing a second vehicle to carry everything and everyone. They turned to the hallway when they heard the door close. Madison walked into the living room and there was an audible gasp. She looked down to make sure that her scars were hidden. All of her glamour seemed to be in place. “Maddie?” Aria whispered. “Yes, angel?” Madison asked.

>Why don't you turn the music on instead? I sent out to her and I saw her lip quirk in a smirk before turning to her phone that was plugged to the portable speakers. Just as the familiar tune of Be Your Everything by Boys Like Girls but it was a cover by some girl that Madison likes filled the air, I saw familiar wolves and cars pull up and doors slamming shut before footsteps made their way towards the yard and Preston looked up with confused eyes. But today, Madison would hear that he was about to marry someone else. Madison couldn't do anything but cry because of the excruciating pain in her heart. When she became thirsty, she got up and decided to buy something to drink. Without looking much, she grabbed what she assumed was a can of coke from the shelf and paid it at the counter before returning to her seat. "What is this? Why is it so bitter?" Madison wondered out loud and stared at the can of coke. She then realized that what she picked was a beer, not a can of coke. No wonder it tasted so bitter.

Chapter One The phone buzzes against my ear, and I already know what's coming. Sally's voice cuts through the morning air like a knife through butter. "Dabe, are you sure you packed everything?" Her tone is sharp, worried. "Your passport? Ticket? Phone charger? You can be very forgetful sometimes. Check everything before you leave the house." I roll my suitcase across the hardwood floor, the wheels making that familiar grinding sound. "I have everything, Mom," I say, letting the sarcasm drip from my words like honey.

The pile seemed to keep growing. “Glad to see it,” Maddie whispered. While she closed the painting, the person hiding in the doorway shifted out of sight. It would seem that they had seen more than enough to be satisfied. *Ana* The following day it started like all the days before it. Just before dawn, I bathe and get dressed. After that, it’s a quick breakfast. Maddie gives two helpings of sweetbreads and coffee before shooing me off to the first hiding spot.

TYSON I leave the bedroom and see Maddie sitting at the island, reading a book with a glass of orange juice in front of her. It doesn’t look like she has taken even a sip of her juice, her eyes are huge and wide, completely focused on her book. Just as I get to her, she lets out an audible, “Nooooooo!” “Are you okay, Mads?” “Oh my gosh! I can’t believe the author killed off the King! Why would he do that? Now, the vampires will overrun the castle.” Her eyes are still wide and unfocused on her surroundings, she’s completely enthralled in her supernatural fiction.

Dr. Cole I’m halfway through closing up for the day, reviewing a few of the shots Beth and Rachel flagged on the laptop, when the front door creaks open. I freeze. Beth glances toward the hallway. “Did you forget to lock the door?” “No. I locked it.” Footsteps. Confident, unhurried. Madison. She appears in the doorway a moment later, all glossy lips and long lashes, holding a packet of updated literature against her chest like she’s delivering it out of the goodness of her heart.
