“Is Batman my daddy?” my son Jackson pipes up from the back seat. Of course not! But telling him that his father is Asher Giordano, leader of New York’s deadliest mafia empire is out of the question. Pero si Gia na ang mas matimbang sa akin ngayon kaya---" "Kaya nga ipapa-abort ko na lang ang nasa sinapupunan ko! Para tuluyan nang maputol ang koneksyon ko sa'yo!" umiiyak kong sigaw at tumalikod. "No, Jett! Hindi ako papayag na may gawin kang masama sa bata!!" Nagmamadali akong tumakbo sa kalsada para tumawid sa takot na mahabol niya pa ako. "NOOO!! JEEETTT!!!" Subalit nanigas ako sa kinatatayuan nang may isang malaking truck ang malakas na bumusina. Nabulag ako ng ilaw niyon ngunit alam kong nasa harapan ko na ito. Sa pagkabigla ay pawang hinihintay ko na lamang na bumangga sa katawan ko ang truck. "JETT!!" mabilis akong tumilapon sa malamig na semento dahil sa kamay na tumulak sa akin, hindi ako ang nabangga ng truck.  Nanlalaki ang mga mata ko sa gulat nang makita si Carcel na gumulong-gulong sa kalsada kasabay nang pagkalat ng kanyang dugo. "CARCEL!!!" Na-comatose si Carcel sa loob ng limang taon, at nagising siyang may-amnesia. Nakalimutan niya si Gia, at ang pagmamahal sa akin lamang ang naaalala. Ngayon ay umaakto siyang parang hindi siya nagloko at halos magmakaawa sa akin na mahalin ko siyang muli kasama ng four-year-old naming anak na babae.
