I next grab the deep frying pan and add a little cook-spray to prevent sticking initially of the bacon. Then I fill it to capacity with bacon slices. Maddie sets the wide, flat, griddle-type pan over the two burners needed and starts placing soaked toast slices as they finish absorbing the egg mix. Between us, we create a large wonderful meal made with love. While the bacon cooks I also grab juice and coffee. When it's all ready we sit down at the kitchen table instead of the more formal dining room table. Feeling a little silly I raise my coffee in toast, "To teamwork from a well-oiled partnership."

My eyes lift to his. “You’re thinking about bacon, right?” I ask carefully. “Actual bacon. Not bacon oatmeal.” He frowns down at the bowl. The hesitation shows immediately. Separating those two ideas is clearly harder than he expected.

The bacon sizzled in the pan, filling the space with its smoky scent. We fell into an easy rhythm. Alexander handled the coffee and toast, while I handled the eggs and bacon. Our movements synchronized without discussion, passing plates and utensils without speaking. "Butter's in the fridge," I said, nodding toward it. He grabbed it without comment, spreading it across the toast with careful precision. I plated the eggs, fluffy and perfectly scrambled. The bacon went on a separate dish, crispy and golden. "Fruit?" Alexander asked, pulling a mango from the counter.

Dad and I head back inside to prepare for Alpha Liam’s arrival. While dad wheels to his room to get a shower, I begin to make a bread pudding with bourbon sauce, which should go nicely with coffee after a hard workout and dinner. Does bread pudding pair nicely with bear? Not a clue, but I’ll find out. Once the bread pudding is in the oven, I start grating potatoes and cheese to make an au gratin. I find some spinach in the fridge and decide on sauteed spinach with onions and garlic to finish off our meal. I can wait to start that until dad has the bear meat started.

An order this time. Unwilling to fight against my stomach out of fear that it'll rat me out again, I cave and grab a fork. I stab into a piece of bacon, pretending the smell alone doesn't do things to me. I take a bite. And it’s… disgustingly good. Crisp and perfectly seasoned. Not too oily either. The eggs are even better since they practically melt on my tongue. “I'm guessing they're to your liking?" He teases, a smug smile already cresting his handsome face.

And she had to make sure she served it fast and got back to work, which included fixing Aaron's school uniform for the day and whatever errand they all wanted her to do. There were a variety of Fresh berries, Granola for crunch, Poached eggs on English muffins, Canadian bacon, smoked salmon, sautéed spinach and kale for general feeding, and on the other hand, for the saucy sisters, there were bagels with cream cheese, burrito, omelet, and baked buffalo wings.

I whisper. “Am I?” His voice teasing. I swallow. “Yes.” He chuckles but steps back, moving to the toaster. “Fine, fine. I’ll behave.” I exhale, focusing back on the eggs. A few minutes later, we have a plate of soft scrambled eggs, buttered toast, and—” “Wait,” I frown. “Where did you find bacon?” Sebastian smirks, biting into a crispy strip. “I have my ways.” I narrow my eyes. “Did you bring this from your place?”

Take it or leave it," I muttered, making a move to dump it out. Liam quickly chomped off half of a piece of streaky bacon with his teeth, inhaling sharply from the heat while holding up a thumb. "That's a three-star Michelin bacon." Outside, the sunlight was warm, and the leaves on the magnolia trees were growing thicker and more vibrant by the day.
