These true-blood hunters possess the coveted werewolf genes that set them apart. In contrast, families like The McKnights and the current hunters within the bureau fall into the category of Lesser Hunters. These Lesser Hunters were once fully human but have acquired supernatural abilities, somewhat akin to those of the true-bloods, through the use of Talismans. While they may not match the true-bloods in strength, they still manage to get the job done.

He paused, looking back at me. “Hunters are military enhanced humans that can match us in both speed and strength. The difference is, we are more vulnerable to them than they are to us. Their armor isn’t easy to penetrate. Even for someone like you, your healing would be useless.” He paused again as if he was considering what to say. “Weapons tipped in silver and wolfbane is highly deadly to our kind. You are far more skilled than you should be, considering you just started, but you’ve never gone up against them. You would need to be trained on how to handle a hunter.” Tate continued.

I locked eyes with Damien. “The Vampire and The Hunter.” I said. He smiled at me. “How ironic.” He replied as he ran his fingers across the mark.
