His blue eyes shimmered with an expression Xavier did not understand. Suddenly, a throaty laugh escaped his throat. "We? In this? Together? Hell no. Xavier, you seem to forget you are Rain Herd's golden son. He would not trust me with money, not even if I was the last wolf on earth."

She took a step forward making her aunt yield back, when the main door suddenly bursts open, revealing the butler and the Baron. “What is this commotion!” The tipsy baron who just came back from a party shouted, making the servants tremble in fear that he will make a fuss and throw things again. This habit of the baron came to light when Veta discovered that the couple had embezzled a portion of Le Blanchet for their own interests. When she asked about it, both of them denied and told her off, making her like a naive child who knows nothing about business.

She had gotten involved with a certain Baron Lefevre, one of the courtiers. On the outside, he seemed the perfect gentleman: dark of hair, tall of stature, with perfect manners, and charm worthy of a prince. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. He is tall and sturdy, and looks to be around the age of 45 years. Her appearance reminded June of old European films. “I'm Baron Louise, nice to meet you,” he said to June. "What do you want?" asked June. His voice was hoarse because his throat felt so dry. “Oh, we're only interested in you, June Hanson. Why would a dragon couple go so far from the King? Our sources say the Dragon King is heartbroken. It's very interesting," said the Baron.

Lambert snapped. Before Bella could respond further, Alexander Moreau appeared, silent and imposing. His gaze swept the room, landing on Lambert, then Bella. “Problem?” His voice carried a weight that silenced everyone. Lambert bristled. “Your assistant insulted me, Moreau. I requested Château Margaux. I received… this.” Alexander’s jaw tightened. He took the glass from Lambert, swirling the liquid once before setting it down. “This is Château Pichon Baron,” he said coolly. “One of France’s finest vintages. Saffron followed the unfriendly woman up the twisting staircase and stared up at the large, silken banners that hung from the ceiling. On them, they bore the Arkadios crest: a large brown bear standing atop a hill, a coronet rests upon its head and a heraldic rose is crossed with a sword underneath it. Saffron found it garish and uncomfortable. She averted her eyes and was surprised to see that they have already left the steps and instead have started down the left hallway.
