Zack's return coincided with the company's celebratory banquet for a major project. He rushed straight from the airport to the banquet hall. Dressed in a black suit, he looked weary from the journey, yet still radiated an air of distinguished elegance. Many people surrounded him, offering compliments and toasts, but he responded blandly. Halfway through the banquet, I received a text. "Basement parking, Section B. I'm waiting for you, darling." I snuck into the parking lot like a thief, wishing I had a few more pairs of eyes.

Smith ordered casually. John didn't hesitate. He grabbed an ice bucket from the corner, marched over, and dumped the entire freezing mess over Zack's face.
