empty. It was Toby. The kid who used to live next door when I was ten. The boy my father swore had moved to Italy. Toby looked like a ghost. If this place was supposed to fix me, why did he already look like that? And what would I look like by morning?

"I was unaware that Logan had tagged out of this rotation." "I believe his stamina was somewhat depleted by your demands, sweetheart." Brandon continued to map the strategist’s back with the melting ice, relishing the way every frigid trail caused the man to tremble. "He appeared to be in desperate need of a recovery drink and a very long period of unconsciousness. Besides..." Brandon let out a rare, quiet laugh. "I think he felt a twinge of guilt for me. It isn't always a simple task, participating in this collective claim on you."

•LEO• “This has come as a surprise to many of you, but as the Luna has said, we want to give everyone a fair chance of being my new Beta,” I announced to the people, though I felt like ending the ceremony. “The person who will pass the divine tests will work beside me to build a better and more powerful pack in the western region.” People cheered, and all the competitors leaned closer. They seemed eager to prove their worth, and among them was Xander, Mary’s brother.

I didn't dare look behind me. But it followed. I could feel it. The thing from beyond. When we reached the water's edge, I collapsed to my knees. The river should've offered safety, sanctuary. But it boiled, bubbles rising, steam rising higher. Malen cried out and fell, convulsing. His body twisted unnaturally, veins glowing a violent purple. I screamed and reached for him. I wanted to save him at all costs. He didn't deserve so much pain. It hurt me to see him like this.

"Now can you let me go?" Keaton didn't respond immediately. His sharp gaze was locked onto Channary, not out of suspicion, but out of concern. "How do you know he's your mate?" he asked her carefully. "I thought you couldn’t remember anything about that night. And the bond—we’re not supposed to find it outside of the Blood Moon." But Channary wasn’t looking at Keaton. She was holding her daughters close, her eyes fixed on Colton like he was a wound that wouldn’t heal. Those once soft brown eyes were burning now—with fury, with heartbreak, and something else tangled up between.

Kate asked. “Well, watching this vid partly reminds me of Batman Year Two.” “Batman Year Two?” “Yeah, you know, the next Batman movie that will star Robert Pattinson.” “Okay…” “Yeah, Batman Year Two is a much more raw and unpolished version of the Dark Knight. When you watch your Glitch streams, you can see Ecto becoming the highly efficient, OP player he was meant to be but, at the same time, he’s vulnerable. It’s like he bleeds at every hit, and dies a little before every regeneration. And then he comes back more determined than ever. I swear he gives me John Wick vibes; the ultimate Sigma Male. The game bosses become more and more hardcore and…”

"I'm a legitimate businessman!" I knew what they were talking about. "So, what do we do?" I looked worriedly at Atlas. "Don't worry! Now that we have this, we’ve gained a special pass to Bermuda. Just wait," Atlas said confidently. Then he turned to Arnold and said, "Go on back and get some rest." Arnold glanced at Atlas. "When are you leaving?" "I said go get some rest!" Atlas insisted in a chilling tone. He didn't respond to Arnold’s question.

“BOOM!” Luke suddenly appeared beside me. He didn’t seem bothered by anything happening here. In fact, he had a smile on his face, his eyes gleaming with amusement—like he loved this place more than the outside world. “Cheer up, man,” he said. “We’re gonna get out. And when we do, I’ll help you take the shot at Rebecca for free.” Then his voice changed, turning sharp and cold. “And by the way, you still owe me.” His sudden shift from joking to dead serious sent a chill down my spine. I turned to look at him, but by the time I did, his expression had darkened. The smile was gone.

They all hear my thoughts? "Yes" they say in unison. “Just Roman, Sebastian and I though," Catherine adds. “We are lycans. We can hear anyone's thoughts from a close range though." She shrugs. Yes, lycans are the highest ranking werewolves with super abilities. Damn! “Let's play a game!" Roman suggests beside his mate, causing Catherine's eyes to sparkle with excitement. "Yes, let's play a game of tag!" she exclaims, grinning like a child.
