Me! My eyes burned, rapidly blinking to hold any emotion from escaping. Every noise blurred into the background as my jaw clenched, matching my hands with nails digging into my palms. He still didn’t bother to correct her, tell her to leave, or lash out at her. Instead, our eyes met. His swallowed by nothing but darkness.
