I woke up from the sound of my stomach growling, without a word; I stood up from lying on my bed; my face was a little hurt from the incident earlier when I saw my reflection, a big purple bruise. I sighed and held my cheek, and started to heal myself. My mom and dad were fascinated with my gift for healing, but it wasn't extravagant; like the doctors from our tribe, I could heal simple wounds or, like mine—Bruises.

The ANS Dawnbreaker, one of Fleet 02’s destroyers, locked on immediately. Two missiles streaked across the sky. The first hit the creature’s midsection, blasting through muscle and bone. The second struck its eye, detonating deep within its skull. The explosion rocked the waters and the beast thrashed in agony before finally sinking beneath the waves, never to rise again. The sailors aboard the Dawnbreaker let out a unified cheer, whilst locals aboard their small escort boats wept openly.

“I need you to understand why I have chosen you for this great change… and why you need to give yourself a chance to be with him.” The next moment she pulled her hand back, almost as if she were pulling a rope, and a bright amethyst light burst out of me. It arched over my head and morphed in the air, landing gracefully a few feet away in the shape of a large wolf. Its body was consumed in flames the same shade of violet as my own fire, its eyes the deepest purple-blue I had ever seen. The wolf was much taller than me and longer as it shook out its head and body, stretching as if I had been sitting in place for a very long time.

“If any Kaiju is going to do that in Pierview, it’s going to be me.” The heat of battle flowed through their jagged mouths as the gargantuan Kaiju charged. Taylor pointed his mighty trident, Barracuda, at the creatures and fired a stream of aquatic electromagnetic energy that disintegrated the monster in its tracks. “That is so cool,” Bonnie said to herself.

I let my power rise, my irises glowing red-hot, threatening to burn him on the spot. But then he spoke. And what he said made the red in my eyes flicker. "Imagine yourself in a crowd, Zubat… noises, screams… you smell happiness while you’re still drowning in pain…” His voice was soft and almost a whisper but it echoed in my ear like thunder. That was the 'Beast’s Prayer', a cursed chant sealed long ago because Zubat used it to feed his bloodlust, and it destroyed everything. “Stop him!” Kane barked, already charging forward as the guards scrambled into action.

As my soul began to fade, becoming more and more translucent, Zach reached out into the thin air, almost as if in a trance. "Joey, was it this painful… before you died? Joey, I avenged you," he murmured. Then, a sudden flash of lights flickered behind him, and the shrill wail of sirens sliced through the night. Without a second thought, Zach jumped into the bear enclosure.

Black ops strike invisible—plasma blades igniting blue, severing limbs in silent, precise arcs, bloodless cuts cauterized instant. A guardian beast—submarine-sized, plated in void-crystal—charges from side tunnel, maw yawning gravity vortex. Remy intercepts—coyote-gold board spinning wild, claws rending underbelly in golden streaks, ichor spraying black fountains that hiss on ice. **Remy (growling fierce over comms):** “Come on, you ugly bastard!” Deeper—tunnel narrowing, pressure building. The heart chamber—cavern vast as a subterranean cathedral, core pulsing black-red like a dying star, Matriarch coiled around it protective.

Water dripped down his chest, each drop tracing the lines of carved muscle that looked like someone sculpted him from stone. Broad shoulders. Deep-cut abs. A V-line that should’ve been illegal. My mouth literally fell open. Xavier leaned lazily against the doorframe, arms crossed, towel tightening around his waist. A slow, sinful smirk curved his lips. “Looking for me, sweetheart?”

The next moment, more than twenty of the beast mechs pulled out their weapons. These weapons were pretty advanced. They weren't rifles or machine guns, not even freeze guns or heat guns. They were beam guns. Beam guns have extremely strong penetrating power, and it's like firing a laser. There's no need to fire one shot at a time, just hold the trigger down and the beam will keep blasting continuously. They were like the Death Laser, but the enhanced version. Not in terms of power, of course, but duration. "Windfall, be careful, those things actually pack a punch."

His hands clamped around my shoulders, holding me in place. When I dragged my gaze upward, my breath caught in my throat. His eyes were glowing again—that eerie, feral luminescence that spoke of the madness lurking beneath his skin. His beast was rising again. But I wasn't afraid this time. "What did you just say?" His words came out as a growl. I met his predatory gaze without flinching, lifting my chin in defiance even as my heart hammered against my ribs. "You heard me." He let out a deafening roar as dark fur rippled across his jaw and throat, spreading over his shoulders in a wave of black that shimmered beneath the moonlight.
