SPADE Wave unlocked the door to the deluxe hotel room and opened it, revealing Robyn alone in bed. She didn’t move, looking lifeless and vulnerable, and still wearing the same gown from the visual earlier. I sucked an audible breath as I stood there frozen in horror, yet my hands trembled, and my knees buckled. “Sir?” I felt Wave’s grip around my arm. I stared at her. I couldn’t look away. It hadn’t sunk in what could have happened if I had declined the invitation, or what could have happened to her in the hands of whoever could have purchased her.

Beast watched as Beta Reaper threw the retired Beta from Trinity Falls over his shoulder and stomped away. Beast pushed the door open further, taking in the details of a dark, abandoned warehouse. Something or someone died a violent death there. He could sense the darkness condemning the space. It was angry and full of wrath and vengeance. If he weren’t a damned soul himself, he might have been scared away by the forces pushing against him, but he was damned. He had been through worse. “What are you doing?” Pine whispered, and there was a tremble in his voice. “Stay out here. I’m just going to take a peek.
