Bound by Deception

Bound by Deception

Obsidian did not look like the kind of place you simply stumbled into. From the outside, it was subtle to the point of being invisible to anyone who didn’t know what they were looking for. A narrow black frontage between two towering buildings on a quiet New York street that hummed softly with distant traffic. No giant sign screaming its name. No neon promise of excess. Just a matte obsidian door, tall and heavy, with a thin strip of warm light slicing underneath it like a secret.

Comeback Of The Rejected Lycan

Comeback Of The Rejected Lycan

Could it be that it needed it as well? I inserted the other key as well and it stayed it. I heard the safe shift, before it completely sled to the other side. My brows raised unintentionally. So this was where the book was kept? Behind Julius' portrait? I moved to the first portrait and tried shifting it to see if there was anything behind it as well, but it was impossible to move it. It was completely embedded to the wall. I dusted my hand before moving to Julius' portrait again. Taking the book out, I checked the cover design and saw the exact necklace that was in my hand on the book. It was a pretty huge book. What exactly did this book have to say about the necklace?

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

Chapter 27: The First Edition The floor of The Narrative was really quiet but you could feel the excitement in the air as Elena and Julian got out of the elevator. The big studio in Brooklyn with its brick walls and huge windows was a big change from the crazy and stressful places Elena used to work when she was writing books for other people. Downstairs the teams that did research and design were sitting around a table looking at the final versions of the book before it was printed. They were getting ready to launch the Nora Vale imprint.

The Alpha Who Left Me Pregnant

The Alpha Who Left Me Pregnant

People usually hide the things they do not want others to discover. My gaze stopped on a bookshelf at the back of the room. I had looked at it hundreds of times before, but this time I actually paid attention to what was on it. The shelves were not filled with old novels. Instead, there were books about sports, football magazines, and even several books about gambling. “Motherfucker,” I muttered as I quickly walked across the room.

Dangerous Game

Dangerous Game

They opened without a sound, but Vivian’s sharp inhale was audible. Every chapter of the Valhalla Club possessed a unique element that set it apart. Cape Town was known for its wraparound aquarium, Tokyo for its three-hundred-sixty-degree views from atop one of the city’s highest buildings. New York had its helipad and secret underground tunnel system. But the library was the heart and soul of almost every branch. It was where deals were brokered, confidences shared, and alliances forged or broken. Tonight, for once, it was empty.

Crimson Bloomed: Ascend

Crimson Bloomed: Ascend

Like watching herself in a livestream with a lag. She turned away. The bookstore was where her day officially started. Gutter & Spine — crammed between a hipster plant shop selling overpriced succulents and a vape lounge that moonlighted as a spoken word bar. The kind of place G****e Maps forgot, which suited Aria fine. She pushed open the door and paused. No chime. That wasn't right. She looked up. The little silver bell above the door was still there, still dangling from the hook. But it hadn't made a sound. Like the air was too thick for noise.

Adored By My Ruthless Alpha

Adored By My Ruthless Alpha

I scratched my forehead and ran my finger over the hard spines of the heavy books. “If I had to build a secret safe behind these shelves, how will I make sure that I can access it?” I remembered how we entered the library through the conservatory. By pulling a book like a lever. I was about to check if the book would act like a lever when my eyes fell on the back of the shelf. There was something large behind the shelf, but it was draped in a white cloth. I rolled my sleeves and gathered some strength to push the shelf away. Some books dropped on the floor and I sighed. “I will pick you all up later. Don’t worry.”

Blue Moon Bed & Breakfast

Blue Moon Bed & Breakfast

Greta and Gabby made their way to Page Turner’s Bookstore just down the street from the Blue Moon Inn. Once inside the warmth of the large shop, Greta was surprised to see a bright modern shop, which included not only a metaphysical section, but my children’s section, too. With soft upbeat music playing in the background, it didn’t take long to find the shopkeeper chatting away to a rather wild looking dog by a fireplace.

Hello, so I just finish the 1st chapter, honestly, I think you introduced too many characters in the first chapter, why don't you focus on the MC and the husband and wife first. You can introduce the other staffs later when they play a role in the chapter. Good luck!

I love the way you tell us about all the different people that are going to be in the book. I like how each chapter is about one set of characters and how they are part of the whole tapestry of the story. Love that there's a Boggart in your book, they really are very mischievous but don't mean harm.

Worshipping His Human Luna

Worshipping His Human Luna

It concentrated heavily around a small, newly opened bookstore on the corner. Jax kept his distance, slipping silently into the darkened alcove of a closed bakery across the street. He watched the glowing storefront with unblinking focus. The hanging wooden sign above the door read *The Bound Page*. Inside, the warm glow of fairy lights and brass reading lamps illuminated the cozy space. Jax’s gaze locked instantly onto the figure moving behind the front counter. She was completely unaware of the predator watching her. She was beautiful in an understated, frustratingly ordinary way—soft, slightly disheveled hair, determined eyes, and an aura of quiet, stubborn independence. She was stacking

Twist of Fate

Twist of Fate

Returning the book to the shelves, I wondered if I would find anything helpful in the library. I nearly lost my balance as I put the book on the shelf. Bracing myself on the shelf, I quickly grabbed it when it leaned over. I managed to keep it from falling, but it still caused a few books to fall. Picking up the books, I found their rightful place and returned them to the shelf. As I put up the last book, it seemed something was stuck behind the books, preventing them from sliding back. Rearranging the books, I found a small brown book wedged behind them, but it didn’t have a title or seem to belong to the library.
