Bella's POV There was thunderous applause in the hall. I raised my head, a smile of confidence spreading across my face as I stepped onto the stage to take Rick's side. Everyone's eyes were on me, admiration and awe evident in their faces. In this instant, I was the focus of everyone's attention. Rick reached for my hand, holding it firmly as he addressed the audience. His deep voice resonated through the hall. "Ladies and gentlemen, it is my great honor to introduce my Luna Queen, Bella. She is not only my partner in life but also the head and CEO of our new business venture. And, more importantly, she is the visionary behind the proposed sports center."

he turned the paper and the Beta looked surprised as well. “It states that the woman in this picture will be named the Promised Luna, destined to save us all. How can this be possible?” he asked himself.

Rose pressed further but I silenced her before she could say something that would make me feel even worse and turned to my cellphone. Almost immediately, my screen lit up with a text message and when I saw who sent it, I stepped away from Rose a bit before I clicked on it. The image that popped up on my screen caused a tight feeling in my chest that forced me to gasp for air. Right there was Bella stepping down from Dominic’s car in front of her apartment. The car windows were tinted but there was no mistaking Dominic’s car, it was one of a kind and there were only six of it in the entire world.

Bella whispered, and Hazel took a deep breath. They made it to the last staircase. By now, the sun had already come out properly. Hazel yanked off the cap of Bella’s hoodie and her glasses, then she grabbed Bella’s hand, turning her around. “Look everyone, Bella is a vampire!” she screamed, causing the crowd of students to stop. “Push me,” Bella said in a low tone, and Hazel hesitated, but the moment her eyes met Fae’s, her hands swung into action, pressing into Bella’s back and sending her tumbling down the stairs.

The door closes gently behind her, but she doesn’t leave. I step out into the breeze, staring down at the lights twinkling like stars across a city I don’t recognize. It’s beautiful. Like a storybook. Like a lie. “Where is this?” I ask without looking at her. “The Twilight Court,” she answers, stepping beside me. “Valen’s palace.” I inch away from her, and she notices. I don’t care.

When I got out of my car, all my senses focused on her, singling her out as the source of the attraction. I wanted her all to myself, but I could not just take her away. She did not seem to recognise me as her mate, so I could not rush things. I had promised to be her prom date. So, before I broke the big news to her, I’d give her the best prom date ever. There was one problem, though. A noisy bitch had waylaid us and was talking nonsense about my mate. I recognised her. She was the insufferable daughter of Twilight Pack’s Beta.

We were almost done when the door to the room opened and Dawson came in, followed by Trent, with big smiles on their faces. "So what did we miss?" Dawson asked as he dropped to the floor beside Ellie and gave her a big kiss, which was practically what Trent did to Bella as well. The girls giggled as they scooted their bodies toward their mates. "Nothing interesting for you, so how was the meeting?" Bella asked as he wiped the lipstick stain on Trent’s corner lips. "I’ll be a Beta in two weeks!" Brent beamed proudly, but Bella’s face dropped as she swallowed. And I think I knew what was going on in her mind.
