My Ex Wife Is a Mysterious Billionaire Doctor

Bella.

“I want a divorce.” Dominic suddenly said and I sat up immediately.

He had just gotten out of bed after making love to me so passionately a few minutes ago and was getting dressed in a hurry.

“What?” I raised a brow at him, unsure of what I had just heard him say.

“This shouldn’t be an issue since there was nothing between us to begin with and you will be greatly compensated for the years you’ve spent here.” He continued nonchalantly.

I stared up at him in disbelief, this had to be some kind of joke or I had probably not heard him right.

Our marriage might not have exactly happened out of love but it had grown stronger over the years and I couldn’t picture myself with anyone other than him.

Marrying Dominic was the best decision I had made and it was worth all the sacrifices I made for us to stay together all these years.

“Dom… what are you saying? We just made love like…”

“I want a divorce.” He blurted out and I just stared at him in shock, wide eyed.

Where was that coming from?

“My lawyer will reach out to you tomorrow.” He suddenly picked up a brown envelope from the bed side, reached into it and pulled out some papers which he tossed onto the bed in front of me.

I glanced down at the papers before me and to my surprise, one word stuck out boldly on the papers,

“Divorce”

Wait… he was serious?

“Everything has been put in place, you get to keep your car, you get a house and enough money to last you for a very long period of time. I have done all I can to ensure the compensation is good enough so just go through it and sign.”

He sounded as if what he was saying wasn’t a divorce case, our divorce case but as if it was a mere business deal he was discussing in a board room.

Why was he suddenly like this?

My heart was beating so fast and I could barely speak because I honestly had no idea what to say. I never saw it coming, how could I have? He had just passionately made love to me a few minutes ago and was now as stiff as a rock in front of me while discussing a divorce.

“I… D-Dom… why? We can talk about whatever is wrong, we don’t have to go down this road.”

“There is nothing to talk about Bella, my mind is made up and I would appreciate if you don’t delay in signing the papers. My lawyer is waiting to hear from you so we can finalize this as soon as possible.”

He sounded cold and indifferent, like this was just something so simple and easy.

I stared at the face of the man I had loved from the moment I laid eyes on him and he looked so much different from that man, the man in front of me was nothing like him because the Dominic I had grown to appreciate as my husband wouldn’t just spring up a divorce on me.

“We have been married for three years Dominic, were you really, not even at one point, happy?” I asked, my voice trembling and my heart racing and thumping so hard that the sound filled my ears.

“Do you really want to do this?” I asked, tears pooling at the corners of my eyes.

“Do you really want to throw it all away? Why?”

I dreaded what his response would be and wanted to hear it no matter how much I didn’t want to.

“Our marriage only happened because of my grandmother Bella. It’s over now and we can both be with who we want to be with,” he began to walk towards the door, “like I said, the lawyer will be waiting to hear from you.” He added.

“And what about us Dom? What about our marriage?”

“If I did something wrong just tell me, please…”

He didn’t give me an answer, he simply turned and walked right out of our bedroom.

It was odd how I felt, as I sat there and listened to the sound of the doors slamming shut behind him as he made his way out of the house, I felt so empty and broken.

No matter the circumstances that surrounded our marriage, I loved Dominic and was willing to give up everything to be his wife, a housewife that could tend to all his needs so to watch him walk away from everything like it didn’t matter, like it had been nothing but a burden to him all along, hurt me so much.

The back of my eyes stung so bad as I fought back the tears.

For a while, I could barely move, my entire world seemed to have frozen in time and his words kept repeating itself over and over again in my head, in a torturous manner.

Suddenly, my phone screen lit up and a notification popped up on my phone, it was a message from an anonymous sender.

With trembling hands and a burning sensation rapidly spreading down my throat, I picked it up and clicked on the notification.

A picture was immediately displayed on the screen.

In the picture, Dominic had a wide smile on his face and his eyes sparkled with so much happiness in them. He had his arms wrapped around a woman with auburn hair and she also had a soft smile on her face.

They were both half naked on the bed and wrapped up in each others arms.

My lips twitched as a bitter smile appeared on my face and the tears began to roll down my cheeks.

At that very moment, it all made sense to me.

She was back and he was willing to throw it all away for her.

That was why he wanted a divorce, not because I did anything wrong but because his Vivian was back.
