THE PROFESSOR'S DIRTY CLAIM
Damian shoved Alex behind him, pistol raised.
The hybrid child raised a hand.
Energy rippled outward.
The floor beneath them dissolved into a swirling portal of blue light.
“No—” Alex reached for Damian.
Too late.
The portal swallowed them both.
They tumbled through darkness and light, memories fracturing around them like glass. Alex felt the child kick violently inside him, as if fighting the pull. Damian’s hand found his in the chaos, gripping tight.
They landed hard on cold, metallic ground.
The air was thin. Artificial. The walls curved upward into a vast dome, glowing with the same blue energy as the alien fleet. They were no longer on Earth.
