When Jaxsen woke the next morning he found himself nestled still in Sebastian’s arms. He felt safe and warm and loved. He smiled at the feeling. “Daddy, wake up.” Jaxsen gently shook Sebastian awake. When he opened his eyes Sebastian smiled at the blue eyes smiling back at him. “Morning, Daddy. It’s Christmas. Let’s go see what Santa brought,” Jaxsen exclaimed excitedly. While he had admitted his knowledge about Old Saint Nick, Jaxsen had decided, just before succumbing to sleep, that he’d hold on to the magic Santa had to offer.

Xander’s smile waivered, but remained just the same. “But...” Benette hesitated. “D-do you mind if I take it off?” he whispered. Xander’s eyes widen. He unconsciously looked at Mordecai who didn’t seem to have heard Benette. The older medic seemed to have lost interest on the younger mage and was currently following Ezra as she flew around. “Can you?” Xander whispered back. Slowly, Benette stepped a bit closer. His hand moved slightly over Xander’s shoulder, then up to the back of his right ear under his long red hair and round to the top of his nape.

Before he could respond, a soft buzz came from his phone—a new message: “Merry Christmas, Volkov. This is only the beginning.” Sebastian froze. Nyra’s smirk returned, but it didn’t hide the worry in her eyes. “Looks like Christmas isn’t over yet.” Noelle stirred, mumbling in her sleep: “Superheroes… save… Snowtopia…” Sebastian glanced at her, then at Nyra, then back at the phone. “…We’ll see about that,” he muttered. The fire crackled, snow fell quietly outside, but Sebastian Volkov knew one thing: this Christmas, chaos wasn’t just coming—it had already arrived.

He hissed and turned to Ryan. "Before you schedule anything for me, Ryan, ask for the reason." He glared at the Guy. "Okay, Boss." Ryan nodded, as he mouthed a Yes". Bennett slumped down on his chair. He could see the Harmattan weather of the early November weather clinging to his wall glass. Even the merry-go-round bells, could be heard jingling and ready for Christmas Eve. He hated Christmas... In as much as Christmas was celebrated. He hated it.
