They were both oblivious to the pictures that were being taken of them. Lifting his head, he smiled at Taz. “I have something for you.” Angel handed him the white shirt box. He opened it and removed the cut, letting the box and tissue paper fall to the ground. The first thing that she saw was that it was not her cut, and yet it was. The center patch was newer, the devil, who now had multicolored braids, sat on the motorcycle with a halo hanging haphazardly on the left horn, giant angel wings flowed out behind him. The bottom rocker declared her to be Sinners Daughter and the top one proclaimed her as The Devil Herself.

“He’s a projection. A ghost made of light.” The boy turned his silver stare on Maya. He tilted his head, sizing her up, almost scientific. “I am the Goodbye, Maya. My brothers and sisters left for the stars. I stayed behind. I have to collect the ink you used to change the story.” A sharp pain shot through Maya’s hand. The silver blood pulsed faster, dripping onto the cold floor. Wherever it touched, tiny silver flowers sprang up, their petals sharp as knives. “What ink?” Maya’s voice shook. “I gave you the map! I saved your life!”

he asked, his voice tinged with astonishment. “I feel incredible, Pedro.” She touched the earrings, sensing a pulse of energy flowing from them into her body. “I think… I think I’ve finally unlocked something.” Her eyes gleamed with determination. “I need to test it.” --- Alice’s new ability took time to refine. At first, she couldn’t control where she would teleport. One moment, she’d find herself in the living room; the next, she’d be on the other side of town. But her persistence paid off, and soon enough, she gained mastery over her movements, feeling the essence of space bending to her will.

“This is wolfsbane. You should be able to ingest this and feel mild or possibly no effects.” I can’t help the growl that comes. “Wolfsbane? You want me to ingest wolfsbane? Planning to take me out?” I say, getting in his personal space. He may be taller than I am, but I know I’m stronger. I feel Angel come up beside me. “What is this about, Ailduin?” She asks him. He turns and looks Angel. “You are immune to wolfsbane, correct?” I watch as Angel thinks about it for a moment. “Yes.”
