Julian replied over the phone, "I'm playing against you guys alone in the hospital, but you're complaining instead of appreciating the fact that I'm here instead of sleeping. You can play with yourselves. I'm leaving."
Valerie's voice came through. "Don't be like that, Julian. Leave the game afterward. My husband is coming home soon, and I won't need you anymore. I'll play with him."
"Add me into that game too, Val," Melissa said.
Bennett knocked on the door. "Let's talk once you're done playing, Melissa."
"Aren't you at work, Bennett? I thought you left. Hold on just a minute," Melissa replied without even looking at him.
