I giggled to myself in the corner of the library. "Continue with the book... About various races!?" I opened a different book. "Hmm that's right, there were goblins and trolls yesterday," I said while reading a book that had pictures of race examples. "Human skip, Elf!? Elves!? Vampires and werewolves too!? Ahhh I want a girl Elf ehh.. I have 4 twins to find!" I didn't read the whole thing, but just looked at the types and went on to the next book.

The Reader looked at him. “Your family?” He laughed. “They’re characters.” Lucien’s eyes darkened. “They’re people.” The Reader tilted his head. “Only because I allow them to be.” Seraphina stepped forward. “No.” The Reader looked at her. His smile disappeared. “You.” Seraphina’s eyes became golden. “You remember me.” “I remember what you were.” “Then you know I cannot be controlled.” The Reader smiled. “I don’t need to control you.” He opened his book.

Zane’s POV “Fair,” I said, crossing my arms. “But why would I believe a lowlife wretch? You might have torn those pages just to provoke my Alpha or trigger our curiosity. There's a chance there's nothing in them at all.” Eryndor met my gaze, and despite the blood crusting at the corner of his mouth, he managed something close to a smile. “Go fuck yourself, Zane. That won't work on me either. I'm the only one who read those books, and I'm the only one who knows what was in them.” His voice cracked. “Even if I lose my mind, I won't give you a damn thing.”

Elara sat cross-legged near the fireplace wearing one of Riven’s oversized black shirts while reading through one of the ancient wolf books her mother had brought earlier that day. Well... “reading” was a generous word. She was mostly staring at the same paragraph repeatedly while thinking about Riven upstairs. Specifically, Riven shirtless. Riven smirking. Riven pinning her against walls. Riven’s voice inside her head. Very educational thoughts. “You’re thinking loudly again.”

It was a total of three pages. “18th of November, Year 1534. Truly a fascinating matter, the earth-sky experimentation and a chance mistake made me discovered an elf!
