Best Bedtime Reading For Adults Novels & Stories

I finished the meal in record time and didn't even taste it, then I headed straight for the library to find something to drown out the silence of the fortress. Ever since the voices started whispering in the back of my mind weeks ago, I had started this habit of late-night reading because it was the only way to distract my brain enough to actually fall asleep. The library was usually the most peaceful place in the Blackwood estate, mostly because the brothers were too busy brooding or training to care about dusty scrolls and old history books. I pushed open the double doors, expecting the usual darkness and the scent of old parchment, but I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw a flicker of c

I need that to happen because I am still in love with him. “Let's read them their bedtime stories and get them to sleep.” Ethan whispers, interrupting my train of thoughts. I nod in agreement. “Okay.” It is already past their usual bedtime. Ethan tucks the boys in bed, and we take turns reading their bedtime stories. In no time, the boys fell asleep, and only the sound of their quiet breathing filled the air. “Good job, sweetheart.” Ethan said in a hushed tone, taking the big children's book from my laps. I watched as he carefully placed the book in the drawer.

Can't breathe lying down. "This is miserable," I groan at three in the morning. Still awake. Caius is awake too. Reading. "Want me to get you more pillows?" "I have seventeen pillows. More won't help." "Want me to read to you? Might help you relax." "Fine. But nothing boring. I'll fall asleep angry." He reads one of his favorite books. Something about ancient magic theory. His voice is soothing even when the content is dry. I fall asleep somewhere around chapter three.

It was only natural that dissatisfaction crept up in him as he asked, "Does your mommy act out every single character when telling you a bedtime story?" Sean raised an eyebrow but remained silent. He simply continued staring at Julian without a word. Time ticked by slowly, but Sean didn't close his eyes to sleep. He was staring at Julian unblinkingly. It was almost ten at night, and sleeping late wasn’t good for children's brain development. Finally, Julian lost the battle of stares and said, "I got it. Your mommy is the best." With that, Sean finally averted his eyes, shifted to find a comfortable position, and settled down in bed.

Everywhere was silent, until. Woosh! * * * Jocelyn had been lying on her stomach reading one of Jane Austin's book, her favorite. The lamp on the desk shined a weak light on her book, just how she preferred it. She was warmed up in her thick duvet over her shoulders. She took to reading because she couldn't find some sleep that night. Reading was always how she compensated her boredom and sleep loss. As she read, she paused when she noticed Andy's room light turned on.

I have to go back. And after a very long time, that will be the first and last. ***** Back home, I bonded with the kids in their shared room. Reading bedtime stories is their favorite thing that I do for them. I haven't been doing this for a while because I got busy with work, but I’m just glad that Rich hasn't replaced me with one thing I’m good at yet. When I finally put the kids to sleep, I went straight to the balcony, carrying a glass of red wine.

No one! She quickly went to bed and sat on the bed side. Her hand reached for the cellphone under the lampshade then opened the reading app. It's still three in the morning so she still had a lot of time to spend reading erotica. The online one-on-one class session will begin later that day. Jewel smiled, a kind of smile similar to the smile of the man in her dream. But she didn't see nor notice it because she was so focused on reading a bedscene. A few minutes of reading erotica stories before she covered herself with a blanket, and did the 'thing' again.

“I think if I have to read again about Corduroy losing his button, Swimmy and the school of red fish learning to overcome dangers together or Max being sent to bed without supper and traveling Where the Wild Things Are to become their king, I might be sick. Don’t we have any new books around here?” Juliet giggles and it fills me with so much joy, I nuzzle her neck as she replies. “Of course we do. There’s a whole shelf of them in her playroom. The problem is you let her pick. And if you weren’t so entertaining while you read to her—giving each character a different voice and acting out some of the parts—you might not have that difficulty. You’d bore her to sleep like I do.” “How else are you

They just follow her around like sheep with the hopes that she’ll notice them one day. I’m home in time to tuck Betsy in, and for the first day in weeks I can read her a bedtime story. She falls asleep long before I’m done, but I keep going until I reach the end of the book. It’s soothing, sitting here with her, listening to my own voice and her deep, even breathing. It calms my nerves a little.

00 at night, I still have an hour to read this book. “I'm sorry, madam, it's only 09.00 at night, isn't bedtime every 10.00 at night? If I still have an hour and I can't sleep well, that's why I come here to just read a book to relieve boredom. Once again I'm sorry, if I have indeed violated a rule, please don't punish me with severe punishment."
