I mumble as I glance over stuff decidedly much more pink than anything else I've ever looked at. Am I trying to buy her affection? You know in the movie when he shows her the library and she’s so excited because she’s always wanted to explore the world and now she has it right there in those books?”

They are probably having a swell time together or with the maid. *** “Uncle Stephen!!” The children scream in glee. “Hey, pupsss!” He embraces them and sucks in their scent of powdery lavender. “What are you two onto?” He smiles and peeks into the books. “Coloring.” Bernice says. The dinosaurs are lizard-looking with the mixture of colors, “This is amazing.” He chuckles. “I love the colors.” “But they don’t fit the dinosaur.” Stephen shakes his head in amusement. Bernice playfully hits him.

Well, the title alone already made people goosebumps. For example, 'The Hammer and Sickle in the Sugarcane Field'. Then 'The People at the Left Intersection of the Road'. Also 'The Resistance of the Peasants', 'Under the Red Lantern', and others like that. Uniquely, the books were predominantly red in color. I knew all those books but never read them until finished. Of course, the books did not belong to Julia. Maybe it belonged to Sam or Paul.

Maybe it's too late to ask for her projects. “Tell me.” I started. “Tell you what?” “What does Sarah like?” I sighed. “She is my daughter but… I know nothing about her. “Alright, cars or colouring?” “Colouring!” He says and I pull out a couple colouring books and some crayons out of the bag I brought and set them on the coffee table. He sits on the floor in front of it and gets to work with, of course, the blue crayon. I don’t even know why I bother with the other colours.
