"No!" Tyler's whole body has started shaking in anger and he let out a ferocious growl. "I'm your Beta and I command you to leave before I kill you with bare hands." Shane stiffens and I can tell that his wolf is submitting to the Beta wolf who is a rank higher than that of the Gamma's. But I know Shane won't leave me even if it means he could be exiled. He could risk his life, but I don't want him to. I don't want him to feel like he has to choose. I can't be so selfish.

“Oh that’s fantastic-” “I need a Luna. Cherish, my heart, my very soul, will you be my Luna Queen?” The wave of warm love that washed over me from the handsome man knelt before me was overwhelming. His eyes were half green and gold, crackling with desire as he looked into my eyes. His smile was soft even though everything else about him had hardened with battle. Like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, he had started this war as a Beta, transforming into something else. He had the spirit and confidence to step up and be the Alpha this place needed.

He teased. "However, you can stay as the beta. You deserve nothing more or less.” I responded to his earlier question. "I already was the beta. I deserve more. Maybe you can grant me about fifty wolves from this pack to start my own pack?” He asked. I shook my head. “But why? Your pack has over a thousand wolves" He groaned. "You're not qualified to be an Alpha.”I simply stated. “Oh, wow. But I'm qualified to be the beta of the Alpha King, that's literally a more responsible position compared to an Alpha!” He raised his voice.

Maybe I would care about revenge once we leave this town. “Pathetic.” Gwen rolled her eyes. She gave her essay to Aki who looked so ecstatic that he’ll have her essay. Gwen glanced back at me and at the book that I was reading. “You’re reading about werewolves again? A whole nonfiction book about an alpha that was published only in this town? It was written a few years ago.” I didn’t mind her. I continued reading the paragraph that I left off. “The alpha is the strongest warrior and leader in a pack.” I closed the book, letting my finger mark where I left off. “What if a beta tries to betray the alpha?”

I rolled my eyes, “if only you'd paid attention I won't have to be in this situation right now.” “That's why I'm your beta” he said smugly, “I have Beta privileges” “That's not a thing,” I said bluntly. “It is now.” He shrugged. “Stop making shit up and enforcing them on me” “It's all love, Alpha. There's plenty more to pass around.” “Ew. No, hard pass.” “Well…” he trailed off. “Right. Antares is the human of Aragon. Just like my wolf is Eden and yours is—”

"I'm just human. I don't get why that would matter." She smiled. "Oh, but it does. I'm an omega. I figured out how to deal with his preteen alpha tantrums. We lower ones always end up being their soft spots." I frowned. "What's an omega?" Gerty laughed out loud. "Oh, that boy... Give me your number before you leave. Text me if you ever have questions." I kept flipping meat, stealing glances toward the grass. Kha and Granger were still at it, limbs flying everywhere. He looked so at home here.
