We are singular, unique. There were dichotomies in the world before The Incident, as the terrible event in San Francisco has come to be called, but they were more general: good and evil, night and day, hot and cold. They were before me. "After them are the Timeless Wolves. They are the Seniors of our kind. They have been living on this ground for millions of years. They are wolves, more powerful than us. They give us powers and they have the capability to take our powers back too. They can never die. They are immortals, they are like souls wandering everywhere". I nodded, trying to absorb all the information she was sharing with me. It was all so fantastical, yet it felt strangely familiar.

“I mean beyond power. Something more than strategy and control.” Maya exhaled slowly. “And what would that be?” Adrian paused before responding. “A life.” The words hung in the space between them, heavier than she anticipated. A life. Not a war, not a strategy, not an empire. Just… living. The idea was foreign to her. “I wouldn’t even know where to begin,” she said softly. Adrian offered a small smile. “Well then, maybe it’s time to work it out.”

But when you already see what is inside our house, all you can say is it is in gray scale mode.
