Just exactly as I had felt when I rejected the last four ladies the Moon Goddess had paired me with ever since Anna’s death. Fidgeting with her hands and shifting in her seat, I could tell she was nervous about what would be happening next while I on the other hand was fully ready to get things over with. “Julia?” She raised her face to stare at me, big brown eyes staring sweetly at me, love and desire clearly written in them. “Yes, Alpha Hunter?” her face was flushed and the smell of her arousal had clung to the air. She quietly sat beside the big stone and watched the scenery in front of her. “This is amazing, a paradise. I have lived in the City of Bloom my whole life, but I never once thought that there was a paradise here. I wonder if I can go back here once I leave,” she murmured to herself. She sighed as she thought of ways on how she should live her life right now. She just hopes that a miracle will come and give her back her old life, or maybe she can start a new life with what her father left for her. She stayed a little longer, and it was starting to get dark already when she heard someone calling her. She stood up and looked around and saw something from the other side of the lake.

Lucian’s P.O.V. I look around the small expanse of fresh, green grass that laid below the sun’s light, making up the park that was overflowing with families. My legs remain stretched out beneath me, a hand supporting my head as I watch with tired eyes. Following the happy families of attentive parents and cheerful children playing without a single concern for the eye to see, pain blisters through me from the sight of it. I pull my eyes away and focus them instead on my feet. I knock them together to distract myself, trying to make the knocking loud enough to drown out the laughter that echoed through my ears.
