Forgive Me: Marked By The Priest
I took a breath, trying to calm the tremor in my hands.
The choir finished their hymn, the congregation waited and then the pulpit light came on.
It was time.
I stepped forward, opened my Bible, and began.
“Good morning, brothers and sisters.” My voice echoed softly. “Today’s teaching is from the book of First Corinthians, chapter six, verses eighteen to twenty.”
I paused, letting the familiar sound of the pages turning settle the air.
“‘Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you… You are not your own.’”
