THALASSA'S POV: I did not sleep that night. I sat in my room with the envelope on the desk in front of me, unopened, and I watched the angels on the ceiling slowly disappear as the sun came up. They were still there, of course, but the darkness had been hiding them and now the light was revealing them again, one by one, their little painted faces looking down at me like they knew something I did not.
