“It’s mine!” Her mother’s lip curled. “Exactly.” Pastor Daniels circled Layla slow, Bible open, muttering Latin loud—“Exorcizamus te”—pushing her shoulder—too hard. “Out, demon” he intoned. “**Release this woman from the machine’s grip—” Layla shoved back—hard, palms on his chest. “Don’t fucking touch me” she snarled. Pastor stumbled, Bible flying—THUD on carpet. “Blasphemy” he gasped.

"I promise you Jessica I will get better. At New York I made up my mind to become an exorcist but I didn't know it would be this hard, you know. I thought it's something that could be done by a wave of the hand or maybe by saying a few things then kaboom! everything will be over, but it's much bigger than that. The other day I got my ass handed to me by a kid—you should have seen the awful way she handled me. But it will be the last time that will ever happen. Please wake up soon." I go home after the visiting hours are over and when I get home I take out the Bible Father Frank gave to me. I place it down on a table and stare at it for a long time. I can't remember the last time I read a Bib

He sets them carefully on a small table by the foot of the bed, avoiding Matthew’s face. Focus. he’s possessed. do your fucking job. “Most glorious Prince of the Heavenly Armies, Saint Michael the Archangel, defends us in our battle against principalities, and powers, against the spirits of darkness and wickedness…” he entonces, forcing the words through gritted teeth. “Exorcizo te, creatura, salis. Adjuro te, maledicte diabole. Adjuro te, serpens, discedas ab hoc virgo. Et nomine Jesu Christi, qui venturus est judicare vivos et mortuos. Et nomine Patri et fili et spiritu sancti.”

she utters, then makes the sign of the cross and ends it with a statement that sounded like— “Deliver us from evil, Lord.” “You know what? Of course you wouldn't be going anywhere. I cannot have you here, and just let you… slip up. It seems to me that the earlier rituals and exorcism didn't quite work. That's alright. We will perform another. You will be cleansed and free from all evil. Whatever has possessed you, we will pray it out. The Lord will deliver.” My heart starts beating loudly on hearing the word exorcism. I can't go back there. I can't go back to that basement. They'll kill me there, and no one would know. I won't survive it down there. I just wouldn't.

Finding the much-needed spell that’s when she started. “Exorcisms tee, Omnis immunde spiritus, omni satanica potestas, omnis incursion infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregation et secta diabolica. Ergo, omins legio diabolica, adiuramus te cessa decipere humanas creaturas, eisque aeternae perditionis venenum propinare.” She watched Jared as he growled and screamed. He tried to break free of the ropes, but he just couldn’t, but Sage knew that she had to hurry.

"Do you know that this is the second life I've lived? In my previous life, Katherine died. You had thugs break my legs, locked Adrian and me in the basement, and even let wild dogs tear at Adrian's body. In the end, you tortured both Adrian and me to death. "Now I've been reborn. Since fate has given me a second chance at life, it clearly didn't intend for me to repeat the same mistakes. Don't worry, I'll make you pay back every bit of the suffering I endured in my past life, step by step." After hearing my words, Gabriel suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head. He writhed on the ground, clutching his head in agony. When the convulsions finally stopped and he regained consciousness, he looked

“Lord, send him aid from your holy place. Let us pray. God, whose nature is ever merciful and forgiving, accept our prayer that this servant of yours, bound by the fetters of sin, may be pardoned by your loving kindness.” With a loud groan, I tumble to the floor, my eyes fixed open on the cross up near the foggy rafters. It’s gone from blistering hot to bitterly cold and I’m not certain whose voices are in the room with me anymore, only that it’s not Father Kilroy’s, or anyone else I’ve known my whole life living here. I hear someone hiss, “Well, I’ll be damned,” and can only assume it’s that wicked bastard Bill because he’s the only one brazen enough besides me to curse during the middle of

“Omnipotens sempiterne deus adesto magnae pietatis tue misteriis...“ This was a bad idea. I could feel it deep in my gut. Maybe we should stop— Before I could voice my concern, a low hum filled the room. My eyes shot to the Ouija board, where the planchette had moved to cover the letter “M.” “Elys-“ Her chanting grew louder, overpowering us. Her voice was filled with a rising, almost frantic energy. “Adesto piis Invocationibus nostris ut speculum istud quod in tuo nomine bene dicere facto…”

“Jessica, can you go see if the drinks were restocked before the jet leaves the ground.” “Yes Mr. Baphomet, I’ll take care of it right away.” He waited for her to leave us alone before turning his attention back to me. “Alright Levi, what’s going on?” “Well, you do remember Mr. Grey Hamill?” “Oh, do you mean that old guy that I threaten after he told me that I’m a bad influence on you?”

“Lucan… can’t those vengeful souls be sent off? Given peace, or something?” He froze mid-breath, his expression hardening in an instant. The air around us seemed to shift into something heavier and colder. His hand, still gripping mine, went utterly still like he had suddenly lost all blood. For a heartbeat, he said nothing. Then slowly, he turned to look deep into my eyes, his jaw tightening. “They can only be dispelled by Blackcroft’s founder.” He said finally, his voice low, and she's dead.” My heart pounded in my ears.
