Cheryl POV I blinked my eyes twice before I finally opened them, then the memories of last night shot sharp in my head that I sat up to find myself on the bed under the comforter in the morning. Beside me was Finn, lying shirtless on his stomach. The relief sigh I let out was one I never did in my whole life. God brought him back to me. I found myself lifting my hands and thanking God. I even promised to repent and go back to attending church like I used to before mom left us.

“Don’t start.” “I’m not starting anything,” I tease gently. “Your face just gives you away.” He shakes his head but doesn’t argue and for the first time in a long time, I see something in him that isn’t fear or anger or trauma, hope. quiet and fragile but real. Ruth is probably already awake I can picture her on her porch, cigarette between her fingers, eyes sharp as she watches the water like she is daring the day to try her she sees everything, she always has. She saved me in her own blunt, messy way not with soft words but with steady presence.

RUTH'S POV As I caught my breath, I couldn't help but think about the goddess's words. She had told me that I had a great gift, but with it came great danger. I was starting to realize just how true that was. But I was not alone. I had Michael, my pack, and my own inner strength. I was determined to face whatever challenges came my way, to use my power to make a difference in the world. And so, I stood tall, my heart filled with a sense of purpose. “Enough, Zale! I told you to stop this nonsense years ago but you never listened to me---“. “And I will never listen to you. I refuse to sit around managing businesses like you when my father’s murderer is out there roaming along the roads freely!” with that Zale gets up from the dining table and walks away. “Who’s that girl? And what does she have to do with our father’s death? What’s happening, brother?” Evelyn questions. “Nothing Eve. Not now!” Christopher dismisses showing pure frustration. “Alright, calm down. I’ll go talk to Zale”.

He is so full of himself and arrogant. He is a good person Sav, I think he likes you a lot...I mean a lot. This is the first time he brought a date. We are really surprised!
