Her breath hitched as I leaned in close, close enough to feel the heat radiating from her body. “You drive me insane, Valeria,” I growled, my eyes glassy with unbridled desire. “I’m an alpha, and I’ve never been scared senseless about someone before. But you—you make me worry with all the crazy things you do. You don’t know how much it messes with me.” She didn’t back down, meeting my gaze head-on, her chest rising and falling rapidly. “You think I care?” She clapped back. “You’ll never get what you want from me. You can try all you want, but I’ll never fall for your tricks.”

'FUCK! So utterly exhausted from the seemingly endless run, and emotionally drained by the betrayal she had just committed not to mention the fact her message went unanswered, she slumped to the floor, cold earth and dead leaves fluttered from the force of her bodily impact, her panther was done. Valaria opened her eyes. She used every ounce of energy to raise her hand to her head, the splitting pain hiding the fact that she had shifted back, the pain wasn't from exhaustion, it was a light, spot lights from an ATV.

He stood up and she stood after him. "Haunter, do you remember that we were close for years! Are you really going to push me away from a girl whose brother betrayed the clan?" She asked out loud, making him halt. After a short while of silence he turned to look at her through his shoulders. "What we had was just fun, it was nothing serious. I want to have something serious with Valerie and I hope you can respect that" then he leaves. Sage kept staring at his retreating figure, trying not to cry as she clenched her fist tight but his words ‘I want to have something serious with Valerie’ kept ringing in her head over and over and she couldn't stop the teardrop that just fell off.

How dare he? "Alright, fine. You want a boring life? Go ahead and rot. Just don't come crying to me when you find out Valerian is with that journalist turning into his cowgirl," Bree said, strutting away. Cry over him? Not a chance! I rolled my eyes and leaned back, closing my eyes. But then my mind started playing tricks on me. I imagined Valerian, naked, lying in bed with Rachel riding him... "Ugh! What the hell?" I groaned.

"I want her to see exactly how dark this world really is. I want her to understand the family she married into, before it's too late for her to back out." “Hehe!” For a moment, Raina just stared at her. Then, unexpectedly, a short laugh escaped her lips, sharp and humorless. "Darker than this?" Raina repeated, raising an eyebrow at Bailey. "You think anything here could be darker than growing up inside the Valente family? Sweetheart, you have no idea what darkness even means." Bailey's eyes narrowed, a cold scoff leaving her throat. "Keep acting tough," she said. "When the real time comes, I really want to see just how tough you actually are…Talk is cheap."

"You'd be worse than this if you had." I groan, rub my face in my hands at something else I have no clue about and don't really want to find out. "Yeahhh," She laughs. "Let's have that conversation when you're feeling a bit less like a corpse." Pushing the existential crises aside, I press further. "Are you bonded?" Valentine's expression turns horrified. "Absolutely not, bitch. I'm a Beta." The relief in her voice is extraordinary. "Thank fuck." The last of my magic drink goes down the wrong hole and I choke.
