The First Day at work. Lila I stood in front of the gleaming glass doors of Kensington towers, a skyscraper that dominated the upper East Side of the New York skyline. I looked up at the big building that I could bet had over Sixty floors with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. Today was the first day of my new job as the secretary to Jake Anderson, one of the most influential billionaires in the world. Ofcourse everyone had heard of Jake or seen him in blogs and articles. He was well known for a number of things apart from his billionaire status. I had spent the past week and the whole of last night preparing for this day.

Most of those he employs are usually those who used to work as undercover agents for the government and wanted a different life. He eyed me with suspicion as he drank his whiskey. “Someone I know just got scammed, but I have a feeling it’s more than just a scam,” I continued. “Who got scammed?” Emmet asked, his curious eyes scanned me from head to toe. “My secretary’s grandmother,” I replied. “Natalie?” Garret asked frowning. “Who the fuck would do that to an old lady?” I can feel the rage building in him but never dare correct him. I know that if I tell them about Evelyn they will never stop asking.

“Did you see anything in the room at least, that could help you Identify him? I hesitated, the watch flashing in my mind. “I know he's rich, like filthy rich. He had a Patek Philippe Grandmaster chime on the nightstand.” Laura blinked, “I've heard that name before,” she said, narrowing her eyes. “Isn't that Scott's dream watch?” She asked. I nodded, my chest tightening. “ It is.” “Oh Linda, I'm so sorry for bringing him up.” She apologized. “It's fine,” I said softly.

She seemed to have removed a thorn in her throat because she knew she did a good job of what I was ordering and I couldn't scold her. "Tell him I'll need the documents within two days." She nodded. “Yes, sir. I will update him right away.” “That’s all. You can leave now.” She quietly left in front of me. She closed the door after she came out.

Natalie's POV I'm already in my room and the things we did inside the mall with John Daves are still fresh in my mind. I couldn't believe that just being together brought me so much joy. My eyes caught the clock on my bedroom wall and it was already eleven o'clock at night. I need to sleep for my work tomorrow. The job of the CEO's secretary is not easy. You read that right, I am Daddy's secretary at our company and business, the Figueroa Constructions Supply. We have all kinds of construction equipment. It's just that my parents couldn't have a son, so Daddy is teaching me right now.

When he saw the man get out of the car, he was instantly stunned into stammering, “That’s… I saw him on TV before. He’s the secretary to the richest guy in town, George Thomas! What’s he doing here?” The rest of them exchanged looks of utter confusion. The secretary to the richest man in Riverdale naturally had plenty of clout to his name. So why was he here at Starlight Bar, and looking like he was in such a hurry, too? Lynn looked completely perplexed too. First there was Master Nino, and now there was the richest guy’s secretary. Suddenly a pang of guilt engulfed me , never in my life had I hurt a woman before, I was also shocked after realizing what I had done. I paced around in my room , Kendalla seated on my bed , showing no kind of remorse for any sort of thing that had happened. This was my fault!! Where the heck was my secretary ? Maybe she had gotten lost in this country new and strange to her. Damn it ,Cain !! Did you have to lash out at her like that ,man?!! I was in the middle of my thoughts when someone called Am I talking to Cain Powers ? Yes this is he... It's about Emma Millers ,she was rushed to the hospital hours ago ..

She owned the room. Her voice was warm but firm, her hands moving with conviction, and every time her eyes met mine, I felt that same sharp pull in my chest that I’d been denying for weeks. I clenched my jaw, reminding myself: she was my secretary. My employee. My responsibility. Nothing more. The door opened mid-presentation. “Apologies for being late,” a smooth baritone cut through the room. Victor Lawson—our newest investor. Young, arrogant, the type who wore his wealth like a badge.
