I lied. “So, what's the connection with you?” “I was one of that Gutrechtians. I immediately took Billy to the hospital," I told the truth. Kacey did not respond but only frowned. As if she was trying to detect if there is a plot hole in my story. Then, it was my turn to ask Kacey. How could she know Billy? Kacey replied that Billy is her neighbor in the Grand Royal Family housing complex. They used to meet at residential barbecue events. In my mind, I never knew that rich people like to socialize.

I tried to sound as calm as possible even though it was hard due to my nerves acting up. “Hmm,” He mumbled under his breath. “I guess so.” He shrugged and then returned back to walking down the path we were on. “I’m Billy, by the way. I live not too far from here. I normally hunt deer and other wild animals in this forest by this time. That was how I was able to run into you,” He scoffed the words out gently. “Nice to meet you, Billy.” My voice came out calm and collected. “There it is!” He pointed at a cabin, and from a short distance behind it, I could see that there was a road with cars driving at a decent amount of speed.

The other two hurriedly went separate ways to alert the neighbourhood of the doctor’s of witches sudden disappearance and unusual state of his habitat. The two with three others who were Billy’s neighbours came to the doctor’s house. Curiosity arouse more when they could not meet the other man who was at the watch, no trace of him and no footprints of any stranger. Something had gone wrong. “You let me know if you need help around the house.” Darndest thing about small towns. He hadn’t thought he’d made friends here. He’d kept to himself as always. Yet after he’d gotten home from the hospital, Molly had come over to clean. Another neighbor had brought an entire lasagna that had lasted him a week. Nicole's eyes went wide as she turned to Ashley, her face pale with worry. "If you have seen, then it means he must have seen too," she whispered, her voice trembling. Ashley's grin faltered for a moment before she asked, "Who?" Nicole closed her eyes, as if trying to block out the memory. "Our new neighbor. When I was giving him the key, it fell, and I had to pick it up. Maybe that's why he was smiling so much."

The woman with the gold chain from earlier jumped right out and cursed Ryan to his face, her finger jabbing in his face.
