“You filled out nicely, Hope. You’re going to bring in some good money.” I jerked my elbow away from him, disgusted. “Go away, Billy. I’m not going anywhere with you.” “I thought you might be hardheaded about it,” Billy said. “That’s why I brought a few friends.” He gestured behind me. I looked at him in horror before turning to see where he indicated. Then I began to scream.

Our neighborhood was on the outskirts of town and had a mix of high-end and middle-end houses. The lots were random shapes and sizes and hardly anyone had a paved driveway.
