INTO THE WILDERNESS: The Journey

INTO THE WILDERNESS: The Journey

They must have been there since the sunrise, yet the little leprechaun was having a good time. They kept going deeper into the oak-brown and rustic woods. Because of the recent dry weather, the grasses they walked on were crackly beneath their feet. They were astounded by the trees' magnitude and grandeur. Their tangled arms grew higher and higher till they reached the top of my skull. They were boldly standing hoary fortifications. They could hear an orchestra of birdsong from them, but it abruptly ceased. High in the tree canopy, a pair of jays were shrieking. The scavengers of the bird world are jays. Their wicked, corvid eyes are on the prowl for a feathered meal at all times. They also

The Forgotten God

The Forgotten God

Onyx orbs surveyed the surface, swooping down to seize shards of flesh that floated there and soon turned to trace the scent of blood coming came from the shattered windows. The birds were hungry and not of the human world, living prey didn't have to be simply mice or rats and their proud beaks could tear easily through the tougher skin of humans and larger animals. Am Heh felt his heart fill with delight as the song of agony wailed once again. The glass exploded with the force of the feathered attackers flinging themselves against it, talons and claws targeting the soft eyes and bulging vein in the throat. The floors absorbed the crimson, dripping viscous droplets to the level below and acc

Time Beyond A Dream

Time Beyond A Dream

The next morning, an eerie silence settled over the mountain of Woodland. The extensive howling sound of the unnatural wind ceased in unison. Birds of prey and land predators stalking their next meal froze in place as though aware of the great unknown power, appearing from above the mountains. The sounds, the movement, all the signs of life that filled the dawn light just halted. The wildlife knew what was happening.

Lahnthean Aria

she anxiously called, grasping the his sleeve until her knuckles turned white. Noorh looked curiously at her as he tried to fix the ends of his shirt and hide his exposed torso. "What is it?" "The adult winged serpents," she began. "They don't happen to look like that flock of birds up ahead, do they?" Noorh turned to look at the horizon and found the flock of birds that Kiran was talking about: a group of flying reptiles with black and deep red-feathered wings that were said to create winds strong enough to destroy an entire village.

The Barbarian's Pleasure

The Barbarian's Pleasure

Reaching higher and higher toward the sky. The huge birds glided gently over us. Peering down at me as if awaiting commands. I don’t know how to command them. “Help them.” I nodded toward the men. Having no idea what would happen. But the birds descended in a thunderstorm of giant wings. Snatching creatures up and into the sky. Reaching heights great enough that when they dropped the things they landed amongst the trees, their bodies shredding and their ugly screeches quieting. Soon the numbers were falling.

Supreme Emperor of Swords

Supreme Emperor of Swords

Countless wild beasts were trampled to death under its feet as it ran away. "Ah..." Amidst the plaintive and panic-stricken wails, a silver-crested wolf falcon with a wingspan exceeding 20 meters flapped its wings, flying toward the fringes of Bone-burying Forest. As the flapping sounds of its wings resounded, there were black masses in the sky—all gigantic, panic-stricken birds and fierce beasts. The primitive species at the top of the food chain used to fight one other every day. They were now only several meters apart, dashing away.

Master of Justice, Slave to Desire

Master of Justice, Slave to Desire

It took me a second to get used to the darkness, but soon, I was able to make out their outline. Ravens! Occupying every inch of darkness, the black birds sat there. Leaning forward in anticipation... Waiting! “Bon appétit!” the shadow grinned--- and the forest became alive with hundreds--- no, thousands of them! Spilling out of the treeline like a living storm, they tore the skies open as they emerged from the shadows. Their wings beat the air into a frenzy, the sound deafening as they swirled above. They descended like a black wave, their wails so loud it shook the forest with their force. The two men screamed, their shots firing wildly into the dark as talons and beaks ripped at them.

His Dark Devotion •The Monster Bride•

His Dark Devotion •The Monster Bride•

Author’s POV The eagles, ravens, crows, vultures, and condors tore the flesh from the skinned, alive, bloody bodies hanging upside down in the air. The men hanging there screamed with every tear of their muscles, bloody flesh pieces being smashed from their bones. Raw blood spilled from their cut vessels, splashing the ground with a cruel red painting. The wild birds had eaten most parts of the three men’s bodies mercilessly. Their painful screaming was echoing like a haunting sound.

The beginning of this book was hard, but then all the characters showed their strengths and it really wrapped Lamia’s part of the series up. The whole series was definately one of my favourites with strong female characters
