The Enemy's Kiss
My lips curved into a smile, seeing fairies flying around the flowers.
“Gen and I came across this place yesterday and saw them.” He turned his head to me, looking at me for a second, then returned his gaze to the tiny fairies. “Do you see them, too?” Bryce asked hushedly, not blinking as if the little fairies would disappear.
“Yeah,” I murmured, nodding but pressing my lips tightly, not telling him that I could see all kinds of creatures humans considered mythical since I was young.
It was a gift I could not share with anyone on the island. I pinned my eyes on Bryce, still looking at the fairies flying away from the falls. They must have sensed us, and like any other being, they felt threat
