No one had seen them though, and knew nothing except that they existed. Most Faerie women did not survive the birth, as the creatures tore their way out of their wombs, killing them instantly. The few who did were thrown back into the village; all of them now too savage to survive with their own kind. Most of them died shortly after, but those who didn’t were taken into the woods by their families, and given the ultimate form of mercy to save them.

Soon, she would heal and the trail would die. “Prince Stone, it is an unexpected honor,” A guard snapped a salute at me, as I entered the building that housed the Gate. Gates were positioned in countless places around the human world and manned by fae of different houses. They were there to provide sanctuary to the fae who requested it, or stop and detain those who were fleeing. Humans couldn’t see them, which was good for them, as wandering through a Gate would send them to the Fae world, from which, they would never return.

Their magic surrounds them, intertwining around the table. The tendrils meet in the middle and shoot toward the sky. A shield begins to form above, spreading over the entire faerie community until a half bubble rests.

"If the Seelie can travel back and forth, why do I never see them or hear reports of them?" :There are reports of them and a host of literature describing humans who came in contact with the faerie realm. However, only a few have ever had these glimpses, and so, the major populace shelves the sightings as fantasy and myth. Most of the Seelie, however, are gifted in the glamour, which keeps them from being noticed and identified.:

The Seelie and UnSeelie lived in 'The magical kingdom of the Seelie and UnSeelie'. In order to go to their kingdom, which is in the parallel universe, you have to go through a time changing dimension. The sleeping myths and folklore creatures live there. In order to stop them you have to travel to their world. The entrance to the kingdom is hidden in six parts of the world and only the Atlas knows them. They are fairies that can betray you anytime. The neighborhood held remnants of the Hunt's passage but no other traces of fairies hiding to ambush us so I focused my attention forward. There were four hunters; two light sidhe of the Seelie Court and two dark sidhe from the Unseelie. It was pretty easy to tell the two courts apart, at least for those of us with clairvoyance. The Seelie, or Light Sidhe, had golden auras which faded to white, like something you'd expect an angel to have. While the Dark, the Unseelie, had jewel-toned clouds of energy pulsing around them. I assume that was how the terms came about, but no one knew for sure. At least, not any humans.
