I saw my life fading before my eyes. Soon, I began gulping down chemical-induced water. It tasted weird and made me want to throw up. Then the water started burning my eyes. I'm going to be blind. I panicked. I am actually fucking going to be blind at fifteen. It seemed like forever had passed with me doing whatever humiliating thing my brain cooked up in that water until I had a deep splash from a distance and then I was grabbed by two strong arms. "Hey, breathe, breathe." Chima's voice sounded from somewhere in my head. "I have you, breathe." He cooed, still holding onto me.

Blade came out with his usual all black clothing—a big black sweatshirt, a black baggy jean, black glasses, black face cap, black sneakers— and a revolver carefully tucked by his side. To my shock, the passenger door opened and a girl came out. She was obviously young, probably fourteen or fifteen with red hair and a round hazel eyes which peered at me through the glass of the coffee shop. I couldn’t help but wonder who she was and why Blade had decided to bring her along. They both shared words before walking towards the coffee shop. “Emily!” Blade called as he walked inside with his companion right behind him. “I’m right here,” I said waving my hands in the air to draw his attention.

I curiously walked over to it and scanned over the photographs. A smile tugged at my lips of a little Alaric with curly hair and a huge smile that seemed larger than his face. An older woman was in several photos, I’m assuming his mother. She was beautiful with long, brown hair and the same green eyes as Alaric. There were a couple more recent pictures of Alaric with men and women around the same age as him. In a couple photos they were bungee jumping, and in one they were on dirt bikes.

My reasoning is because I was focusing on finishing off high school, had to deal with graduation and family matters, and most of all I was unmotivated and I have been. Yes, I know it sounds like an excuse but I'd rather write Blinded when I'm motivated rather than write crappy chapters that I don't enjoy writing. So for the month of June, I'm going to take a break from writing, find some sort of motivation, and overall figure out what direction I want Blinded to go. So for right now, it is a goodbye unit next month. Sorry for the delay. -L.N.F
