Alexander whispers near my ear. We stop in front of a magical antique shop. Without checking if it’s open, Caelum pushes through the door with urgency, and it slams against the wall. A youthful enchantress with milky white eyes and brown skin appears from the back of the shop, her hands raised, two orbs of energy crackling between them, ready to strike the intruders. When she recognizes that it’s King Caelum standing in her shop, her expression shifts to one of surprise, and her hands drop. I notice her heartbeat quicken, her breathing becoming shallow.

Beth's POV As she sat on her chair, piles of Coins were arranged to form towers before her. There were quite a few Bronze Coin Towers, a couple made up of Silver Coins, and finally… … A Golden Coin Tower! Her face beamed with joy like that of a child playing with their favorite toy. Ripped from a nine-tail bitch who thought she could seduce me." I let the words hang, watching her tremble. Not too fast. I wanted her to feel the weight, the debt.

“How do you know about this?” The girl smiled faintly, not childlike at all. “Because it belongs to us.” The townspeople began to move closer, slow and deliberate, their footsteps soft but synchronized. The sound made Evelyn’s skin crawl. Lena whispered, “They’re not right. Look at their eyes.” She was right. The room was heavily ornamented with black-out curtains of black and red colors. Rozelyn realized that a human-size mirror was on her side when she heard the slamming of the door caused by Cyrill’s wind abilities. The room was not that small, but not huge either. A crimson couch was situated a few inches away to her right, to where the mirror was erected. Cyrill grabbed her hair, making Rozelyn come in contact with his electric blue eyes—the eyes that she was yearning to look at for eternity. The eyes that were the color of the crystal cool waters of the French Riviera.

He digs through the bag for the next ice pack, “On it.” Serena sighs, “I’ll do what I can.” Eliza nods, and Serena closes her eyes and puts a hand on her forehead. When she opens them again her eyes are completely black, no cornea, no iris, just pitch black. Greyson and Rosie look at each other but say nothing, Celine looks concerned, but comes to his side, holstering her staff.
