She stumbled toward it, Kael at her side. “What are you doing?” he asked, his voice sharp. “Ending this,” she said, grabbing the dagger. Its power hummed, resonating with her mark. Zorath’s eyes narrowed. “You can’t stop the Eclipse.” Aria raised the dagger, her mark blazing. “Watch me.” She plunged the blade into her own chest, aiming for the mark.

“This isn’t your power to take!” Sylara screamed, her body cracking with burning light. “Then why does it answer me?!” “Because you wield it with hatred,” Aria roared. “But I was chosen.” With a final surge, she plunged the Sovereign blade into Sylara’s dagger. Light exploded. Sylara was thrown back, unconscious, the dagger shattered. The wolves dissolved into mist. Aria stood over her enemy, heart thundering, breath ragged. Kael approached, resting a hand on her shoulder.

This was the first time in a long while that she would bring back to life her creativity and the first time to do it solo. Some of them must have noticed her glowing eyes and they cried out while letting loose a bunch of bullets. Raeya waved her palm and it created a wind of shield that bounced off the bullets and sliced them to bits. They must have not had enough ammunition because it only took Raeya five steps before their guns sounded empty. “My turn,” she said.

But I knew I had no choice, and I also knew what I had to do. I needed to stop her. **** No one saw her coming. Selene was a force.
