"You're going to like the show." The girl with pink locks opened a wide smile that seems to convince the other, and jumped up, arriving at the tip held out two microphones. I rolled my eyes at the brother and watched the girl who went up on stage watching the work in full, her short black hair with blue streaks highlighted against a long-sleeved black sweater, the collar covering her thin neck while exalting her breasts big and defined waist.

Something was happening. Kendrick shot out of his chair and shifted midway to his massive silver wolf, landing on his powerful paws. The door blew off its hinges as the wolf slammed into it with a loud roar. He growled threateningly at the sight he saw. Thousands of black witches. Flying like bats all over the sky on their brooms. Their evil cackling could be heard as they swooped down and flew back up with birdlike cries. While from beneath the ground, giant ugly trolls crawled out. Their bodies were covered with earth and grime, their yellow eyes bulging out of the sockets. They held giant clubs and roared at the wolves.

As if that explains it all. “Oh god,” I mutter, burying my sweaty face in a doll. “Jax has all kinds,” she continues, totally unfazed. “Red ones, silver ones, and glow-in-the-dark ones.” She taps her finger to her lips as if thinking about it. “Ripped, ribbed, dotted, fruity, spicy —” she adds proudly. “I don’t know what spicy means, but it sounds dangerous. One’s camouflaged, another’s got tiger stripes. Not joking.”

I level a cool gaze at the black haired Barbie. “Did you see the lady who purchased this?” I ask in my most patronising tone but there’s really no need for that because Barbie looks ready to do whatever I tell her. Good for both of us. I push the paper bag forward. She spares a look at her manicured nails and frowns at the pink colour. “The blackie?” My fingers stop moving, my head snaps to her head. “Excuse me?” “The woman, yeah? The black one,” she says. “She’s so black she could be related to darkness.”

"I told you to be quiet." The tom could tell Doll was struggling to not fight back with words. "We were interrupted last time." Hades dug around in his bag and pulled out two similar looking plastic shopping bags. "I brought gifts for you. So which will it be, what's in my right paw or my left?" "L-l-left." Doll answered. His copper eyes, now free of the pink of an omega’s heat cycle, were wide with fear and curiosity. "Good choice. That means the things in my right paw are mine to do with as I please." Hades dumped out the contents of Doll's chosen bag. Boxes and containers of hair dye fell at the no-fur's feet. "Is there one that suits my pretty baby?"

It takes me another hour to get to her and when I arrive, I stop, not truly understanding what I’m seeing. Lorelai must have sent fifty of her soldiers, and by the look of them, they are her best. And there, in the center of the fight, is Lily. Beside her is a huge, black wolf that I don’t recognize. But what is most shocking is the trolls. There are two trolls who are swinging what must be trees but look like clubs in their hands, taking out Lorelai’s soldiers.

I was too curious to remember that I was supposed to be unconscious. As soon as we made it to the ring, we saw the many, many fans all looking shocked, horrified, excited, and downright terrified. Soon I found out why as well. Haydon was standing over a dead Troll. His long-elongated claws and fangs were covered in thick blood. His eyes were bright red instead of hazel. He had this rabid look. I could hardly even recognise him. Honestly, he looked like one of those vampire-monsters that you would see in those horror movies...only Haydon looked even more attractive in this state... That was not the point though.

It seemed like this kind of thing happened occasionally, and some of the older girls still had childish hearts. "Sir, this one, and this one, and the crystal series on the shelf over there, they are all new this year and are all very popular. Your wife should like them." ***CALISTA'S POV**** A FEW DAYS LATER Meghan dyed the tawny, golden hair of my pups to black. It was kinda, a long procedure, and it took us days to forage for the raw materials for the corrective procedure. When we finally found them all, Meghan began the hair-darkening procedure. She used henna, indigo, and black walnut hulls to darken their hair. She made the dyes into a paste and applied it to their hair, which was then wrapped in a cloth and left to sit for several hours. Meghan said, the longer the dye was left on the hair, the darker the color would be. So, we had no choice but to wait, biding our time in the deep woods, while we perfected Kieran's and Melinda's camouflage.
