“Why all the questions?” Why? I gave a small, humorless laugh. If anything, his expression was more… resigned. Jeremy looked confused as they led Imposter Jeremy past them in handcuffs. "That's not Jeremy," Natasha realized, staring at the masked man. "Our Jeremy is right here with me." "Then who is that?" Agent Parker asked as everybody went silent. Meanwhile, in a car speeding away from the city, Daniel spoke into his phone. "Phase three is compromised. Activate the backup plan." "What about the imposter?" the voice on the other end asked. "He served his purpose. We move to phase four immediately." Daniel ended the call and smiled coldly at the road ahead. This was just round one.

I peek at the screen and see that he already has 911 typed out on his keypad, ready for ring them with one tap. “How did you get past the gates?” Adam’s head turns in Spencer’s direction and I see recognition light up his eyes. “My name is Adam Blackwood and I am the world’s stealthiest and coolest hacker.” He extends his hand for a handshake. “It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mr Tremaine. Lodging and accommodations have significantly improved, thanks to you.” Smooth-talking bastard.

Adam looked at Charles in total disappointment. He said to me, "Don't listen to him yapping away about some sort of score-swapping system! How could such a thing exist in this world, anyway? Then again, if not for the fact that I had experienced the effects of the score-swapping system, I would've probably never believed that it actually existed.

At first, he narrows his eyebrows in chaos but as soon as realisation hits him, his eyes widen in scepticism. The other men stand behind him, sharing the same expression. “What the-” Bryce says, stepping further into the room. “Imagine going after someone in order to sneak into a mafia’s system. And not any mafia, but the one who owns the half of the America,” I say. “Sounds absurd, right?” “I can’t believe it,” the bald guy says, feeling deceived. Noah. “This can’t be real. You’re not-” “I am, Zack Torres. Now stop convincing yourself that I’m not real,” I scoff.

“You know, you’ve been very good to me… well, sometimes. I basically needed you, and you played your role perfectly without even being told what to do.” “I did want to go undercover,” he continued, eyes glinting. “I just had to use you as my substitute so I didn’t get suspected—which kinda worked.” “Now… I’m so fucking confused how your damn ass investigator actually found out about me. There’s only one thing—there’s an imposter in my midst. If I find out who, he’s going to die miserably.” His voice dropped, cold ,lethal . I flinched, my hands trembling.

Mort said, grinning from ear to ear. "And he's never alone. He's with Lyric and Leroy who are just at a distance. Acting like some bunch of angels who are willing to kill anyone who brings harm to Narco." Mort looked at the impostor he was with now. "Where is he?" Mort asked in a dangerous tone. The man who claimed to be Narco met his eyes. "W-hat d-do you m-mean?" The impostor acting stammered. He really did a good job stealing someone's identity and copying every movement of Narco is on a different level.

Tears slid down my cheeks. Where was Candido? What was going to happen to me now? Would this imposter take me to Damian? Would he just leave me here to die? Had Candido already died? “Who are you?” The imposter asked to the hooded figures. They said nothing, but I felt more of them appearing around us. Their eyes were focused on us. I expected this imposter to drop me and escape on his own if he could, maybe offer me up, but he didn’t release me.

A figure emerged from the darkness, his footsteps deliberate, mocking. And then I saw him. Lucas. Or rather—the imposter wearing Lucas’ face. Except this time, he didn’t bother with the disguise. A black mask covered the lower half of his face, but his silver eyes gleamed through the dim firelight, sharp and filled with amusement. His features—though similar to the real Lucas—were twisted, wrong, something about him sending every alarm in my body ringing. “Rolex,” he drawled, tilting his head. “Took you long enough.”
