Black Lagoon Novels & Stories

CHAPTER 155: THE VAULT AT SEA The open lagoon didn’t smell like the deep sea; it smelled of the city's underbelly—creosote, diesel film, and the warm, brackish rot of mangrove roots exposed by the low tide. The water wasn't blue. It was a slick, churning sheet of obsidian glass that caught the purple glare of the bleeding sky, throwing fractured neon reflections against the rusted hull of the Vane-Absolute.

~ALAN~ The metal door closed behind Miller and the others, making the locker room so quiet it felt like it was buzzing. The bass from the speakers in the corner was still booming, but the fun was gone. I didn't move for a long second. I just stood there, the water still dripping from my hair and tracing the lines of the ink on my shoulders. The boy hadn't moved either. He was still a statue against the lockers, his knuckles white as he gripped the handle of his mop like it was a lifeline.

I crossed one of my leg over. "Welcome everyone to the black auction. We have pretty good items today so please enjoy. The first item. One of Lala-land's finest diamond. This diamond is also one of the rarest diamond in the world. The silver has been extinct and this is the last of its kind. It can cut through anything and projects bright light. This diamond is one of a kind. There's no other of it in the world. We will start the bidding at 3 million dollars." The person said.

We get in the elevator and find two young women wearing short dresses, surely arriving from a party. They start whispering to each other while looking at the Black Tiger. They are eyeing him from head to toe and I can feel them talking about how hot he looks with his messy hair. They are drooling over him, but he cares less about them. He keeps a straight face, his eyes only staring at the doors. The girls are arguing about who’s going to talk to him first.

I am so worried about how bad these dreams get each and every day. I know something is bothering you and as I always say, take me as your best friend and feel free to tell me anything and everything.’ Mariam, Susan’s mother says sweetly to her, to which she nods her head positively. In the end, even though it had a spooky vibe, it was just an old abandoned house and nothing else. Fitzy mock-scowled. “Oh, c’mon. Set a good example for Gavin, why dontcha?” Kevin shook his head and grinned. “Nope. Been there and done that, Fitzy. We’re good.” Bill, who’d been quiet up until then, smiled at me and said, “Creature from the Black Lagoon is showing Wednesday night at the park, Nate. You down?” I grinned. “Yeah, definitely.” “Cool. If you get there first, save me a spot.”

I thought as I grabbed the hair products and fix my hair. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - MIKO I’m seriously watching the videos in front of me; especially the light post where Topgun was a while ago and the structure where Black Dragon went to ask permission to enter. I noticed two guards obviously alert outside as lots of young men come in and out. I looked back at the video of the light post. I now saw Topgun leaning on it as Black Dragon appeared in front of him holding a pink and yellow balloon. It looks exactly like the balloons Big Boss was selling minutes ago. Then I saw them walked to the structure, stopped, talked to the guards, handed the balloons and finally went inside. The game is

“We use the service flues. They run behind the chimney stacks, straight to the Secretariat. No iron gates. Narrow, filthy, but it’ll get us through.” “Where do they lead?” I asked, adrenaline already taking over. “Secretariat wing,” Lyra said. His hand caught mine, fingers warm and steady in the darkness. “Ash, soot, tight enough you have to crawl. But we’ll move faster than she expects.” --- Lyra’s POV

He didn’t even let me sit down on my own; he practically lifted me onto the leather bench before sliding in right beside me, trapping me against the wall. “I’m getting you a double-shot vanilla latte and a hot turkey club,” he grumbled, his dark eyes sweeping over my face as if searching for bruises. “You look like you haven’t eaten a real meal since yesterday.” “I don’t need a babysitter, Black,” I muttered, but the smell of toasted sourdough coming from a nearby table made my stomach betray me with a loud rumble. A slow, dangerous smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. “You need to feed your wolf, Haven. Your body is burning double the energy right now.”
